Question about HP f2105 21" LCD Monitor
By allycoo, posted on Mar 17, 2008 Hi all, I'm a newbie. Like others I'm having a problem with the power button. It didn't start until I used one of the buttons in the bezel because my monitor sound went out (the computer earphones work though). I pressed the monitor sound button (for the first time) thinking for some reason it was just a fluke. Anyway when I pressed the button, some sort of "indicator pop-up" came up to show how much I was raising the sound. It's a rectangle about 4" x 6" inches and stays on all the time (may flash on and off every once in a while) which makes the computer almost unuseable because it's right in the middle of the screen and it stays on top and I have to guess where any download or favorites pop-up comes up because the the cursor is lost behind it. There is no X or minimize box, to turn it off - just a plain black pop-up with a white border. The other bezel buttons don't work either - then about a week later the power button started flashing between amber and blue. Now I can't turn it off (except by turning off computer and pulling AC plug) My screensaver works most of the time but the box is even on top of that-!!! Of course I can't use Media Center either (seems like all the action is in the middle of the screen.) I called HP (India) but they were no help. I would take it back to Circuit City but my warranty expired a month before all of this happened. I called a couple of shops and the minimum (just to open it) was $150 which with only social security I can't afford. I didn't know about this website or I would have asked earlier!!! Thanks for any help anyone can offer. I'm at my wits end. I hope this is not too long but I wanted to give as many details as possible. In summary: 1.) No bezel buttons work 2:) Volume pop-up stays on. hp F2105 I am having a similar problem as most others with the volume pop-up. It is 4 x 6 and stays in the center of the screen and will not go away. I have unplugged it, shut down whole computer and unplugged everything for 12 hours then reconnected, but nothing works. None of the buttons on the bezel work either. It continually says monitor going to sleep and then the power light blinks from blue to amber. Can anyone help cure this with little to (preferably) no cost.
This is not HP.com sorry, its a BULLsession blog, mostly guessing
QUESTION TO YOU.
no computer stated, 10000s exist, 1981 to now, endlessl....
we get you have a display connected to what>? who knows.
I hate guessing
but is display connected to a desk top PC?
so if you barrow and other display does it work ok?
it has 2 cable (not power) one is DVI other is VGA
which one are you using.
ok i see your confusiong
yes, the monitor has its one menu's and the bad designers
dont tell you that, all pop up windows need to say who is talking to you in this case "F2105" is not in the window.
geeks design it and this is what you get.
even windows 10 does this inane acts,, it pops up
and forget to say , I'm W10, only the blue color dark is the clue)
so dont feel bad, its the lame geek disease there.
what does this mean
that you need o learn the buttons on your monitor
one is to clear those screens its in the manual.
best is dont use those buttons. if possible. on side of monitor
the monitor has its own tiny computer brain that is helping you.
the button on most monitors (mine has 5)
menu button,. press one to get menu press again to exit
some have an exit button push it.
lost your manuals>? hp.com has them, ask.
your monitor has speakers, those need to be connected. to the PC.
the screen box is called, clear it now using manuals above.
On-screen display (OSD)

SOURCE: hp F 2105 MONITOR
I know about that volume pop up that refuses to go away. I figured out that it goes away if I press the "Menu" button. If that doesn't work, I have no idea what will.
