Windows Media Player can not read the CD also will not rip songs from cd
Download another copy of the software, then uninstall the old one before you install the newer one.. should solve the problem for you . if not, then contact microsoft and get their input, it may be an incompatability with your cdrom drive that microsoft may have a patch for
