I have a HP dv6000. When I press the power button, the row of blue lights flashes on, then off. I have tried resetting it by removing the battery, pressing the power button, waiting, reinstalling the battery. No good. Still no power. Please help.
The power IC on the mainboard is damaged. maxim 8724e or any mosfet around that. u hve to change the main board or send to pro for repair. [email protected]

You may have to reseat the ram. If that doesn't work, have a look at this article and perhaps it will help you to narrow down the problem. It could be a failing power supply, even though you are getting some lights...

This usually occurs when the AC adapter is failed.
Look at the port where it plugs in, if it's glowing blue the adapter is working, no light, it's dead.
If it is dead, you will need to buy a replacement. If it's working then the problem is elsewhere in the laptop. Being you have tried resetting it already it's likely a hardware issue and may need to go to a pro.

power cord plugged in but computer will not power up. blue light flashes 5 times. Tried removing battery and tried pressing power button for 10 seconds.
