Spin cycle cutting out

I have a Tricity Bendix front load washing machine AW1000W about 6 years old. When it goes to spin it only spins for a few moments and cuts out. It is filling and draining OK. I have cleaned the filter and checked the waste pipe. Neither were blocked. After the spin stops if you turn the control knob to the next spin it spins fast again and cuts out. . I have also checked the motor brushes which seemed OK. They were about 8mm long. Looking at having to get new machine. There are no trustworthy or reliable tradesman I know of around here. Thank you.
