Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Web Camera

1 Answer

Can't adjust mic volume

When I try to adjust the mic volume on the Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000 there is no audio-video settings tab to be found. I clicked on the triangle and the only options I see are Microsoft Hardware Site, Properties(which just adjusts the camera), Flickr(which is the exact same menu as properties), Choose a Webcam,Check for updates, help and about.

When I first Installed it I got the window where it would test the volume levels and you could adjust it. I thought it was a little quiet so I tried adjusting it but there's no option. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and this time I didn't get any prompt to adjust the volume.

Thanks worked like a charm! Just thought it was that I couldn't find the settings for it.

You have to go to your control panel, click sounds, and find the microphone, when you go to properties it will have an adjustment bar.

I had this problem and just discovered this last night after having this webcam for 3 months!

Lifecam video works great - but no audio!

do a cam/mic test in the audio/video settings in the tools tab in yahoo/msn. Then you need to minimise the yahoo/msn screen and right click on the cam icon in the taskbar and check that the mic and cam are enabled and that it is set to allow other programes to take control of this device
