Question about Acer Aspire 3050-1733 Notebook

The power input plug doesn't connect well, so it must be toggled with before it will charge the battery

When you toggle with the plug it occasionally starts charging but when you let it go it will stop again. if you just leave it it doesn't go into the jack completely so you have to push it in and keep pressure on it for it to work. can this be fixed easily or does it require replacing the input jack on the laptop?

thanks for the helpful solutions, i was afraid it would take some resoldering. my roommate yesterday took the casing of the laptop and found that the jack was completely broken in two, he said i should be able to find a new one pretty easily but that it would probably have to be soldered by a technician. i hope to find one that wont cost too much.

Most times the jack needs to be resoldered as putting it in and taking it out weakens the solder, which is sometimes the only thing holding the plug the the mainboard.
I would let a qualified technician resolder it for you, make sure he guarantees his work in writing before you let him do it..

Unfortunately you are experiencing a problem that manufacturers have been ignoring for quite some time, I believe they ignore this problem intentionally in order to facillitate future purchases.
The lapto will neet to be taken to a technition to have the plug re soldered to the board, the procedure itself is simple but the ammount of work required to dissassemble the unit is extensive.
The job should run in the ballpark of around $100 and insist on a guarantee!
Sorry I dont have better news...

My Insignia Monitor doesn't work with my laptop, I've tried everything, from pc settings to cables, etc, i only receive a NO SIGNAL ad

Usually you have to toggle the display output on the laptop. The FN key + one of the F# keys with a monitor icon on it. Toggle it until it outputs to the monitor. Your getting "no signal" because no signal is being sent to the monitor or you have the monitor on the wrong input if it has multiple inputs.

1994 toyata camry the alarm goes off and will not let me start the car.

factory security does not have toggle switches as far as I know so it is probably an aftermarket system. Try one of two things, turn the toggle switch the oposite direction with battery disconnected. Reconnect the battery and try again, the horn will beep a few times when you reconnect. try starting. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery and turn the key to the on position and reconnect the battery and the horn will sound but will go off get in the car and try to start. It should start and run normally. shut car off, then you should be able to return the toggle switch to the previous position If this happens again turn the toggle switch to the opposite position with the batterry disconnected and turn the key switch to the on position and reconnect the battery and start when started go see a service that installs aftermarket systems and they should be able to reset it security system Hope this helps

-Why you want to hook up a switch to the fan...? You want to turn it on when you want?
-No Problem. Here some basic installation.
-Connect the hot wire to the positive (+) battery terminal.
-Connect both left over wire to the switch. Then connect 1 wire from the other side of the switch to ground. you should be good to cool down.

ASUS EEE PC 1008P the system togggles between ac mode and battery mode when i try to charge..and the battery orange light tends to blink heavily Charging is done when the eee pc is powered off. On...

Maybe try cleaning the battery contacts on the netbook. If it happens with both batteries, then it may just be bad contact between the battery and the laptop. An emery board, or a small piece of fine sandpaper can be used to clean the contacts on the netbook. Clean both sides of the contacts - do it gently as you don't want to sand down the metal, you just want to clean off any oxidization or corrosion on the terminals. If this doesn't help, it may be a bad charging circuit on the board (new netbook). You could also try charging with a different a/c adapter and see if the problem persists.

Hope this helps!

Is your toggle hooked to ground? Hook your toggle switch to the battery and then the other end of that toggle the remote input on the amp.

How do i wire engine fans to a toggle switch in the cabin of a 1997 pontiac firebird trans am ws6?

The simplest way would be to run a wire from the positive battery post to your toggle switch. Make sure you put a fuse in it. Then run from the toggle switch back out to the fan. Unplug the factory wiring and plug you wire onto the power feed terminal at the fans. To find that, just use a jumper wire from the battery to each prong on the fan until it turns on. Plug your toggle switch to that prong. Hope this helps.

I plugged in my i pod and came back a hour later and the screen was black and was frozen and none of the buttons would work

you will need to reset your ipod this will not delete songs. 1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (slide it to HOLD and then back again).
2 Press and hold Menu and the Center button for at least 6 seconds, until the
Apple logo appears.
If iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
â Make sure the Hold switch isn’t set to HOLD.
â The iPod nano battery might need to be recharged. Connect iPod nano to your
computer or to an Apple USB Power Adapter and let the battery recharge. Look for
the lightning bolt icon on the iPod nano screen to verify that iPod nano is receiving
a charge.
To charge the battery, connect iPod nano to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.

Compass 'tilt in space' chair does not tilt

The TRO is a new tilt-system offered by Golden so I am not familiar with any glitches it may have, but I would first check to make sure that the connections from the toggle leading back to the tilt-box in back are all well-connected. Unplug, and replug all connections as far back as the power supply for the tilt system, which goes back into the base of the chair to the controller. It's important to completely unplug and replug and not check them visually, as a loose connection cannot always be confirmed by sight alone. Also, check the fuse to the tilt feature. I am not sure if this one has a separate circuit breaker for the tilt option, but if it does, check that as well. The toggle protrudes out from the front and is subject to impact damage. A lot of folks try to get 26 inch wide chairs through 25 inch wide doorways, as I am sure you've found out. If you've rammed the toggle into a door frame, table or other fixed object, it may be the switch. Checking its operation with a voltohmeter is the likely approach to insure that the toggle is not damaged and is doing its on/off duties. The fact that you aren't getting a power available light seems to make the toggle not the culprit, but it's worth a shot.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
