My fax machine a Sharp UX-B750 is connected to an extension on a pbx and won't automatically answer a call. I have to go over to it and pick up the receiver and press receive/start. Can you please help?

Your reception mode is set to TEL/FAX or TEL mode, to set it to automatically receive faxes it should be set to FAX. Look at the LCD display ( right section ).
To change the reception mode you can print the HELP LIST by pressing COPY/HELP button.
