Started getting the "Focus Error" for no apparent reason. Tried turning on/off, removing/reinserting batteries. Still not working. Fuji says take it/send it to repair facility.

You see my problem is the focus error thing keeps showing up. At first when it did that I hit it with my palm and it would be fine, now it just says focus error. I have tried hitting it, tried zooming in and out and tried taking the batteries out nothing works.

focus error is on and you cannot use the camera. I have taken the batteries out, I tried going thru the menu, I have taken the memory card out, I bought new batteries and still nothing. This camera was not cheap.

I had same thing. I took camera to bits and still didn't work. Then one day just before throwing it in the bin with batteries in and lens extended, I grabbed the outer ring (bigger part of lens near the body) and pulled it out a little further. I think there was a slight click then the red light turned green and everything was back to normal. Maybe I was lucky, but its worth a try because it definitely worked for me. Cheers John

I was the second post. Since then I tried taking the batteries out over night. That didn't work. But then today I tried running the zoom in and out and noticed that it was not reacting properly. It was either delayed or wouldn't zoom at all. I kept running it in and out and I whacked it in the palm of my hand. Suddenly the "Focus Error" message disappeared, it focused and I was able to take a picture. I think this relates to Solution #1 above. This makes me wonder if a lubricant like WD-40 would help. I don't expect this solution to be permanent, but for the moment the camera is working.

Taking to fuji repair: € 125,- its a solution but better by a new camera.

Problem: focus lens is stuck on inner or outer position.
Solution: open lens, remove bateries.
remove with sharp knive outer chrome lens cap, put a smal screwdriver between outer lens housing en lens(3 sides)> becarefull!
If you are lucky the lense is comming lose, put batery back and open close lense, my be you are a lucky as me, camera run until a year again. Regards

Sony video camera hdr-cx110 ... blinking error code E:61:00:00 auto focus doesn't work... I can see inside the lens and see movement when I use the zoom in and out ...

Hi Hedonismious,

If the camera is under warranty the best option would be to get it repaired for free via the service center.

Either they will repair it or replace it.

From the error code , it seems to be the zoom lens malfunctioning which you cannot repair by yourself and the error in itself means that you need to get in touch with the service center.
It's a chip level fault or a firmware fault which SONY authorized center can deal with.

What you need to do , i contact the service center and just inform them about the error code that you are receiving , and they will come to know as to what is the problem and direct you to appropriate department and method to get this problem resolved

I would also like to caution you , that you should not attempt anything on your own in this situation because it may result in further damage to your camcorder.

Hope this helps ...:) Let me know in case you have any queries.

Fujifilm finepix a820 zoom error ... i turn the camera on and it wont focus... message on lcd screen is zoom error. it will not take picture and when i turn it off agan the zoom bit wont go back inside

This problem is related to the malfunctioning of zoom motor, Two possibilities are there,
1- If company provides technical help on component leve in your regionl then zoom motor may replace.
2- If component level support is not available then LENS ASSEMBLY must be replaced.
Contact your nearest fuji service centre or contact any expert nearby for the specific part replacement.
    Thanks for using fixya.

Panasonic DMC-TZ1 operates in Playback mode only

The position from the dial wheel is not corresponding with the electrical position. If you can do it by yourself you can adjust it and tighten the midscrew from the dialwheel

I have a canon SD 580. When I playback the video clip it's always in fast forward mode and I can't play it normal speed. Any help?

Make sure you are shooting your movies in "Standard" mode. If you have the mode set to something else, especially "Time Lapse", the playback may not match 'natural' motion.

In any case, you can control the speed of the playback. When you first enter the movie playback mode, there should be a movie control bar along the bottom of the LCD. Instead of the "Play" button, select the "Slow Motion Playback" button (single arrow with single bar next to the normal Play button), and control the speed with the left or right arrows on the multi-controller.

Finepix A400

If the "!ZOOM ERROR" message is displayed on the digital camera, switch the camera off and on again 2 or 3 times.
If this does not clear the error, take the camera to your nearest FUJIFILM Service Station for testing and repairs. Problem may caused by lens zooming gears stuck.
