You should be able to just pick the actual platter up and off the unit. the belt is right there and you should be able to wind it around the platter and the pulley unit.

My sony pslx250h turnable belt was ordered and i can't find the repair book to repair it.

Pretty simple fix. Remove the mat, remove the turntable, install new belt on bottom of turntable hub. Place turntable back onto spindle. rotate turntable so you can see motor pulley. Stretch the belt from turntable hub over motor pulley, replace mat, enjoy.

I am assembling a sony turntable and don't understand step 3. Using the ribbon, loop the drive belt around the motor pulley. PS-LX300USB model Thanks

Manuals and belt instructions here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=PSLX300USB&LOC=3

You would handle the belt by the ribbon instead of bare fingers so your finger oils wouldn't contaminate the belt. You stretch the loop of the belt over the drive pulley between the flanges to hook it.

The Operating Instructions link on this page:

appears to give guidance on connecting the belt. Any use?

The belt fell of the gears on my turntable.

Hi dont know the model but normally like so:
Take the platter of the turntable, it should just lift of, but there could be a circlip in the middle that needs to come off first. Just lift the mat first.

Place the belt back onto the platter first, should see where it goes, then put the platter back on. There are holes in the paltter which you can then grab the belt and pull it over the motor spindle.

Hope that helps

Turntable wont spin

If the mat lifts up to reveal a hole then you might get at the belt that way. I would have thought that the platter will lift up anyway. It might be held by a clip washer, around the spindle, from the top, sometimes hidden under a glued plastic piece. If you can't get in that way unscrew the base.

Drive belt on Sony turntable

Usually, for most turntables, the belt goes on the bottom of the platter first. Then you put the platter back on the turntable. From here you should see an opening on the platter where you can 'grab' the belt. Pinch the belt, and then wrap it around the rotating motor's shaft. This is usually at the top left side - around the 10 o'clock position.
