    Hi there.
Are the games you are playing part of the operating system or have you installed a game and which game is it?

Yeah the graphics is one problem
n tht model of acer has heating issues..well you can upgrade your bios n it will be gone!
the overheating triggers the shutdown to prevent any harm..but with the new bios 100*C is the limit!
just upgrade yor bios from the acer website n you're good to go!
cheers fellow gamer!

Hi again.
The Graphic adapter is nVidia GeForce G105M, the dedicated video memory is 512 MB.
The games you are playing require 512 MB minimum!!!
This means the the graphics card cannot handle the games you are playing because they are really made for a desktop PC.
The only way around this is to lower the resolution of the game so its not using the high end settings.
It won't look as good but at least you will be able to play them.
If you are a gamer i recommend you think about a gamers desktop computer as they are built for that.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

I have and ACER aspire 5738G (1yr old now), everytime im playing games, the left portion, exactly below the power button is getting very hot after 30 mins, then my laptop will shutdown.

Games will cause more heat as they put your components under more stress. Make sure that you are not blocking any of the vents and also, check them for dust. Give them a vacuum if they are dusty. It sounds like there is not enough ventilation, which causes your computer to overheat and then to shut down.

My acer aspire 5738g keeps shutting down when i'm

Sorry you are having troule. It sounds as if it is getting hot and protecting itself. Games are very cpu intensive and this causes heat. The cheap fix is an under cooler. This is a cooler the laptop sits on. I have seen them at Best Buy for under $20

My laptop model is acer 5738g and i am experiencing overheating issues with my laptop when i am playing games.i play a game for like 45 mins and then it suddenly shuts down.i buyed this laptop 6months ago...

Have you tried using a cooling pad under the laptop? You can pick them up at any electronics or computer store in your area. If it still overheats after that I would HIGHLY recommend you get in touch with acer and have them make sure that the laptop is ok.

if it overheats too much you will run into problems.

My acer aspire 5738g shutdown while i plaay agame

You either overloaded the processor or the available RAM. Also with these laptops and high end games...it is very easy to overheat them unless they are on a cooling pad with another external fan blowing cool air over them, without it they will shut down due to thermal overload....this is to keep them from melting something. Try checking with the support driver page for your laptop and see if there is a BIOS update that addresses the algorithym for fan speed, then pull the heat sink from the processor, clean everything up and apply a good thermal paste compound, then blow out all the airvents and make sure there are no restrictions.
