The top bolt is very difficult to reach. I ended up bending a 1/2" combination wrench to a right angle as close to the box end as I could. It was tedious to use, but it worked.

SOURCE: cub cadet 1024 wont turn over

try taking an insulated screw driver and jumping across both terminals on the solenoid, if the engine turns over, the solenoid is bad and will need to be replaced

You have either a short in the solenoid trigger circuit, and a faulty solenoid. To check, disconnect the small trigger wire on the solenoid. Turn key to 'START'. If fuse blows, there is a fault in the wiring. If not, the solenoid is faulty.

SOURCE: Fuse blows when you turn the key .Cub cadet zero

One thing I would try is to remove positive cable from the solenoid and the positive cable from solenoid to starter. Then I would temporarly hook positive cable from battery and see what it does. If it goes right ahead and blows th e fuse then you probably going to need to replace the starter.Thank you

Easiest way is to remember; flat side of belt goes onto flat pulleys and small V shape goes into V shaped pulleys.

Starter wont engage on 1641 lt cub

sometimes the shaft that the gear rides on gets dusty dirty and the Bendix gear cannot slide up. Is that what you have? You can hear it spin but doesn't engage the engine? A week battery will do that too. Thees CC starters like their voltage high

Cub cadet 1641 lawn tractor won't start

Beings you can get to the solenoid I would check it first. There is a small post (not battery or starter), touch a jumper wire from battery to this post. Then with a test light check the wire to that post w/key in start position (remember you must be in regular start condition for this test). If no light, you can only go to each switch one at a time and bypass then try to start again. Not sure how many there are.
