All of a sudden...none of my igniters are clicking on my gas cooktop stove. What should I do?

donho1,
most likely the problem is the switch places onto the shaft of the valve. to replace the switch, you would need to remove the burner cap and port rings. you will see a large brass nut that needs to be removed on all 4 or 5 burners. next you would need to remove the nut in the center of the simmer port ring which is also the venturi for the main burner. you must be careful when removing this nut as they have a tendancy to lock onto the jet holder and could be hard to remove (don't strip or break the venturi or holder).....after you remove those nuts, the burners and top can be removed (watch the igniter wires). you can remove the switch by removing the retainer clip that holds the switch onto the valvestem.

if its the burner that hase the intermitent timer on it
i have the same problem & I troubleshooted it.
if u take the cover off thier is a part on it that the rest dont have. its a red thing that rotates & thier are little contacts in it. for some reason thier is something that messed up inside it.
i took both mine apart & switced the guts & one of the little "boards"
is not working properly.
so im shure that is your problem

the very first thing i would do here is to check the ignitor itself
under the head cap you should see two screws, once those are out you will be able to lift the burner plate, lift the burner plate, you will see, or should see the ignitor, and the wire.
i check this for voltage by unplugging the ignitor and olding the wire close to a ground, the metal body is good. Turn on the ignitor, becareful it is live. yhou shgould see a spark comming from the wire
if not check to make sure that wire is in position and on the spark module
if you do see a spark this way, just order the replacement ignitor
and install it when it arrives

My Dacor cooktop had a similar problem of continuously clicking igniters. I unplugged it a couple months ago and used a piezoelectric igniter to get it started. Then I looked in the Dacor FAQ and it said to clean the ceramic igniter posts with alcohol not water. I had to scrape some gunk off a couple of the posts with a knife before cleaning with alcohol. Now it works.'
I think the igniters use electrical conductivity to detect when they need to spark, so even slight invisible contamination on the igniter insulator can confuse the sensing system. Also they all seem to fire as a group, so all of them need to be clean because if any one of them is dirty then they will all malfunction.
