SOURCE: Wireless repeater

Hi,

Might it be that your problem exist because both the 2Wire HW1700 wireless modem and the D-Link DWL-G710 have their DHCP features enabled? During the setup, use static IP adds, disable the DHCP function of the HW1700, follow setup instruction/procedures of the DWL-G710.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Setup range extender

i found the solution. first reset de DWL-G710, change the ip 192.168.0.30 to 192.168.1.253 (obiously change your IP of LAN card for 192.168.1.252 example) in the G710 go to network and in the gateway put 192.168.1.254. go to wireless Site Survey, select your 2wire net, connect, select the channel of your 2wire, select your security, write your key and apply and ready to connect :D. Later but secure :)

SOURCE: DWL-G710 won't connect to 192.168.0.30

Here is a link to the manual for your DWL-G710.
D-Link manual on page 13 it lists the url entry should be
"http://192.168.0.30" This is a HTTP link not a HTTPS.
Also the address you typed in might be a typo. The IP address should be 192.168.0.30 not 192.168.0.30.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Got a DWL-G710 wireless extender that will not

First I would try a reset, as this extender should would with your default settings of your network.
I would suggest just giving your router a reset. Here are the procedures for your particular router:
Reset Procedure
Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

make sure to setup your wireless security again and make sure to set an admin password on your router after the restart.

Kolay gelsin.Good By

Move the repeater directly next to the router, connect to the repeater with a laptop/desktop and enter the configuration utility, see if you are even able to establish a "signal" status. If not, you may have a defective product or extreme amounts of emi.
