Yes you can paint it.. Begin by removing the rust with either a wire brush or a thick paste product called naval jelly. Then prime the area and finally paint it with appliance paint, abailable in a spray can at most hardware stores in the color of your appliance.

Rust in microwave

If the wall of the cavity is not rusted too badly, you can sand it down to metal and touch it up with catalytic paint made specifically for microwave oven cavities. You should be able to get this paint at any appliance parts house. After this repair, be sure to wipe down the inside of the cavity to get the condensation cleared out after you cook in it. I usually leave the door open for an hour or so to be sure that it dries out completely.

Coating inside oven has de-laminated and rust is forming under coating. Warranty?

Hello spark... no warranty unless the microwave is under 1 year. If there is a lot of rust and delamination you are best off to replace this oven.

The problem with delamination is that it exposes bare metal and can result in dangerous arcing.

If it is not real bad, sand off the rust and spray paint it with microwave cavity spray paint available at this link http://www.appliancezone.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=8338&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

Paint inside microwave oven bottom is peeling

The oven cavity will probably start to rust where the paint is gone. If you're up to it, sand it and paint it with a color that matches the interior color. Other then colors, there is nothing special about paint inside a microwave.

The inside finish on the oven door is coming off--is this harmful?

its not harmful at all,,,it just dont look to nice,, the microwave will still work fine as any microwaves will just bounce off the inside of the door and be reflected back inside the oven just as they do on all the other sides of the oven,,, after all the door is only coverd in paint,, and that dont stop microwaves so dont worry about it,, all the paint has come off the inside of my microwave door,,, and its been working like this for years now

Cracked seam inside Microwave

It will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then if the steel seam is actually cracked / separated, then you can apply a very thin bead of steel-based epoxy "J-B WELD". When it dries thoroughly, you can sand it smooth.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If it's just the paint that's cracked, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

Paint has chipped off bottom of MW

Moisture accumulation can sometimes be caused if the cooling fan is not running properly or if the vents in the back are blocked or there is not enough free space around the sides and back of the microwave.

One thing that helps is to keep the door open a few minutes after using it and to wipe down the inside after use.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

Rust inside the microwave.

The areas can be sanded and painted, but first make sure there are no holes rusted through. If it's all surface rust, then sand and clean as best as you can. If you have any areas rusted through - get rid of the microwave.
Use the paint sparingly - don't try to cover in one or two coats. Best results are obtained with very, very light coats drying 10 minutes or so (depending on the humidity) in between. 10- 15 coats usually works well.
It's best to do this outside, as you'll have lots of overspray.

As far as the paint - the best I've used for the last 20 years or so comes from A.M.I. Parts. You can find them @ www.amiparts.com or toll free 1-800-522-1264.
