Question about Garden

1 Answer

Model: 1578201D PSI 4000 3.5 GPM The machine is only 2-3 years old and has always worked fantastically (with very limited usage). The inlet fitting got broken and we replaced it with a new inlet filter (part number 35169) and now it has low pressure. Is there something else we should check or replace?

The pump is not chattering or vibrating. Any other ideas?

I have a North Star pressure washer with a gas powered Honda engine which is running at full rpms. There is no increase or decrease of pressure when adjusting the pressure regulator. There is plenty of water pressure going into the pressure washer. Any thoughts?

The gas tank has been emptied and cleaned. What should the high idle RPM be on the 13 hp Honda motor? Thanks

Hi there,

A "chattering" pressure washer pump can be caused by many things. You could have a bent or damaged inlet line, or the water supply might be too low. Fixing these is simple, but checking on the water supply is critical. Never let the water supply run low for any extended period of time. Other causes of a chattering pump include water that is too hot, you may have air in the pump system or a stuck float valve. A power washer pump that is vibrating, but not chattering could be the result of air in the system or debris stuck in the valves. Catching these pressure washer problems early and knowing what causes them will save you a trip to the repair shop, especially when it comes to the low-water issue.

good luck

First you can check the condenser is working or not and than check the motor using a multimeter.

    Thanks

I have no pressure and the pump surges when i release the trigger on my electric karcher modle k 2.360

If you have a Karcher then you should always post your machines barcode.

Because you have the low pressure and pulse this will be the valve block. Your machine has 3 piston and each has 2 valves (inlet and outlet). Because you dont have the barcode, i cant be sure if you will buy a valve kit of 6 valves or a pre-assembled manifold block.

it could be this machine and spares :
http://www.sparesgiant.com/cleaning-equipment/pressure-washers/karcher/k-series-parts/k2-range/k2-36m16724300/

The karcher barcode is on a silver sticker and is usually 15 digits long. Example 156987400000123 is actually model 1.569-874.0 and serial number 00123....

When i turn it on all it does is to keep surging

Check that you have sufficient inlet flow and pressure and that the inlet is not blocked in any way, both the supply hose and in the machine itself.

No pressure, the inlet filter is clean, all hoses and connections are tight, oil levels are correct, hose size to pump is correct with no kinks. Has the pump gone?

In this case it sounds as though either your unloader valve has failed, the water seals have failed or the check valves in the pump need replaced. Unfortunately there are no tests that can be done on this unit to verify which component has failed because it uses an integrated unloader valve. The only way to tell which component has failed will be a visual inspection of the internals of the pump by a trained service technician.

I do like to know if this washer is good enough for my business as a used car dealer? Briggs & Stratton Murray 020456 2400 PSI 20 GPM 190cc Briggs Stratton

We power washed houses for years with a 2400psi machine. The machine weighed about 90 pounds. 1 strong man could pick up the weight, but usually it took 2 men to unload it from the trailer.

A small machine can advertise 2400 psi ... but that is for 3 square inches at a time. The heavier machine shoots a 10" or wider swath of 2400psi.

We ran our machine twice a week for years. We had a honda engine. I'm sure the briggs engine is good. I wouldn't buy a used machine... unless the price was low and it started on first pull. Electric starter on your power washer might be a repair-waiting-to-happen because it is constantly exposed to water and dirt.
