Question about GE 24 in. Profile PDW9880JSS Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Maybe water pump

We have a GE Profile PDW8200J02BB. Front panel lights as expected but, water does not start. I have to spin the pump to get water flowing. Is the pump "bad" or is there a "kick start" circuit for the pump. Thanks...John

The pump sounds like it is bad. But you can try a hard start kit on the system if you want to do this. The only problem is that if you buy the hard start kit, which doesnt always work due to the pump being that bad means that you are spending more money then just buying a new pump.

GE Profile washing machine--- spinning does not stop.

Sounds like the water pump may be faulty. That would keep it from pumping the water out, which might keep it spinning in an attempt to empty the drum of water.

Water pumps are generally accessible from the rear, via an access panel. Check it for debris or a worn bearing. It should be obvious.

No incoming water

I have the same type problem. Does your control panel light as expected? If so, remove the lower cover at the floor and take a pencil or screwdriver and spin the impeller ( at the beginning of the cycle) of the water pump to see if it will take off and pump water. If it does, you'll hear the water flowing into the washer. This is where I am in my troubleshooting. Our dishwasher will complete the cycle with clean dishes. I'm not sure if the pump is bad or if there is a control circuit for the pump. Hope this will help.

I have a GE Profile Washer Model # WPX214A0CC. During the spin cycle, it just stopped and the water is still in the washer without spin drying the clothes. HELP!!

Hey cissy, sounds like your pump is plugged. Could be rubber backing from a cheap throw rug, other lint type item, or object like a coin or hair pin.
Remove power, take two screws out from the very bottom front edge of machine. remove access panel to gain access to pump. Remember, disconnecting hoses to pump will cause remaining water in tub to come out, be prepared. Remove obstruction from pump. Reassemble. Fixed!

Spin and Agitate problem on GE Profile Prodigy WPSE4200A

This machine uses an electric water pump. I would check to motor. Remove the front panel and operate the machine to see if the motor is working. Check this by listening to the motor and watching the belt. If you hear the motor but the belt does'nt move then there may be a problem with the pulley or motor clutch assy.

As far as not draining or pumping water ? Check the wiring from the pump to the control panel. If these wires are alright then i suspect the pump.
