Looks like you have a problem on you're compressor circuit.

I'm assuming that this is a pretty small unit...On you're circuit you should have a start relay/overload located on the compressor connection itself and a capacitor.

To troubleshoot this you will need a multimeter set on ohm, to check resistance from the compressor to ground.

Once you have pull the plastic relay from the compressor (power should be disconnected by now!) You will exposed 3 connectors on the compressor. Put 1 probe on the compressor casing and move the other probe to the 3 connectors on the comp. If you have any resistance (if you ear a beep) you have a grounded compressor and that's that, might as well give up now and get yourself a new one.

I can tell you how to check the capacitor and the relay if the compressor check out OK. my name is Benge (nick name Benge007)

Let me know, I'm knew at Fixya, I'm just doing this for fun, free

What would cause my emerson quiet kool air conditioner 10GC13-L to keep tripping the breaker?

It probably has something shorted to ground or the compressor or motors are stuck causing a high amperage problem. The breaker is probably fine but it also could be weak but normally its the compressor or a component has faulted to the compressor. If the unit immediately trips breaker its probably shorted to ground. If the unit struggles to start and a few seconds pass before it trips then it may be a component fault.

Coleman mach rv ac unit tripping breaker

If it trips the circuit breaker as soon as you turn the FAN on, suspect either a bad fan motor or a failed fan motor start capacitor. If you are able to turn the fan on but the circuit breaker trips as soon as the COMPRESSOR starts, it is possible that the compressor is seized.
If, on the other hand, the unit is tripping a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) breaker or GFCI utility outlet, it is possible that neutral and hot are reversed at the outlet into which the trailer is plugged (happened to me this year at an RV park).

My duo therm 13.5 btu rv air conditioner started making a popping sound and dimming the lights like it's trying to cycle to shut off. Well then it started triping the circuit breaker so I changed out the 2...

The best guess is that you have a bad thermostat. When the compressor shuts off it has to stay off for a long enough period of time for the low pressure high pressure to equalize. If it turns the compressor off and back on immediately it can't start against the heavy load created by these unequal pressures. If it will start every time after sitting for 10 minutes the thermostat is making it short cycle.

Sounds like possible fan capacitor failure. If your not familiar with capacitors, please find someone who is, as they can give a fatal electrical jolt if not handled properly.

High side of fan motor trips breaker , low side cools just fine. can fan be replaced or do i have to replace whole unit

So, the condensor fan motor trips the breaker? Have you checked the run capacitor? It can easily be checked with a multimeter.

Trips breaker and will not cool or heat

Disconnect compressor leads and tape them up. Restore power, if the breaker does not trip, than you have a grounded compressor.

If breaker trips again, hook compressor up and disconnect blower, if breaker does not trip you have a
bad blower motor.

Coleman TSR Mach air conditioning roof mount trips breaker

The simplest answere to start is it' looks like the compressor is the ssue." Either it has siezed"or in my oppinion needs a proper household power to activate it. If the voltage drop on these units is a little below a certain value, it will not start and will burn out. Thats why i suggest a household power be tried first. I feel your generator is a little undersized. You will only know once you have applied household power.

AC breaker trips after 10 minutes

Whats the amp breaker? Is this for the inside unit or the outside condenser? If the inside and gas heat you have a bad fan motor, If its an electric furnace , the same, but if its the outside unit, the fan could be going bad, locking up and the compressor still runs and pulls high ampsand tripps breaker or the compressor is just pulling too many amps due to plugged coils with dirt , grass or weeds blocking airflow.(koolbreezes74401@yahoo.com)
