voice fades in and out, or sounds like i'm talking in a tunnel. Motorola H700 worked fine with old cell phone, but once paired with new palm centro I can hear caller but caller cannot hear me. Tried pairing again. nothing helps.

  • nhmeanie Sep 12, 2008

Same deal. Took it to U.S. Cellular - they played around with it, ultimately removing and readding device - worked great until I lost the headset. Got another one, now I have the same issue again.

I have the same problem. I am 3 weeks out of warranty and the Verizon tech told me I'm SOL today but DID offer to sell me a new one. This wasn't a cheap piece of **** -- I paid over $100 for it just a year (and 3 weeks) ago! I did try the fix (thank you for posting it) but it didn't work for mine. :-(

I have been using this headset with my AT&T 8525 for past 15 months. The good new ends there, coz now, I can only hear but cannot be heard!!!

I had my H700 for 1 year and suddenly the microphone stopped working. It was not abused, it was kept in my car in a safe location. It was always charged routinely. Very expensive equipment to break after 12 months.

Went to use my H700 this morning and the microphone is so muffled it's not usable. I use voice command on my Samsung T819 and it can't recognize. Had to revert to my old H350.

  • rowlingtort Dec 27, 2008

Everyone says I'm talking through a fishbowl! They can hear me, but only faintly. Resetting my motorola phone has not worked, probably the mic. The H700 is too expensive to have to be replaced like all the other $20 versions- don't waste your money. Buy a cheap bluetooth, you'll feel better about throwing it away.

I have the same problem, people tell me that I sound like I am far away, and that my voice is very faint. What can be done about this problem?

Had the problem before and Motorola replaced it with same, under warranty. The 2nd one's microphone stopped working 6 months after having. They only give 3 month warranty on replacement. Cheap,,,, I mean expensive, Chinese ****.

I have an actual solution... I went to motorola site and found this...

Have questions about your cell phone/mobile device or Bluetooth headset?

Our Call Centers are open from Monday through Friday from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00pm; Saturday and Sunday 9.00 a.m. To 6.00 p.m. (CST)

Please call Motorola customer service at: 1-800-331-6456

When I called I did a quick song and dance with the auto system (just say agent and it goes away) and explained to a "foreign" sounding gentleman what my issue was and after wasting about 5 minutes of my time attempting to get it to work he said they (Motorola) was going to upgrade my headset to the H710 for free. According to him I should have my new headset in less than a week. We shall see.

I have the same problem... discovered that one of the two wires that is connected to the microphone dislodged. I don't know where it connects to now so I'm SOL also.

Does it have a mute button because person on phone cannot hear me but I can hear them.

Tap both volume buttons to mute/unmut. If that does not solve it i have heard many accounts of these headsets having back mic's.

Person I call can't hear me

make sure you haven't hit your mute button somehow. This may be also in your menu que. These problems are really easy or really messed up. If it isn't the mute problem then there is probably a problem with the speaker mike. See if you can take it for exchange if this is it cause it isn't worth fixing$$$

Headset transmits wave

If you are hearing it on the speakers then it is possible the other computer's problem. If you are hearing it though the headset it could be a headset problem. Check your settings and try talking to a bunch of other people to assess the situation.
