Unfortunately Microsoft has invoked the "WGA"
(windows genuine advantage tool) and constantly checks your copy of microsoft products for validity.
There are many sites dedicated to overcoming this intrusion which many consider an invasion of privacy.
Unfortunately I cannot post the links to these sites here due to the legal ramifications, but a search containing the following parameters "wga tool virus avoid " Will offer solutions.
I NEVER reccomend using the automatic Automatic updates from windows, I prefer to use the "download updates but let me choose when to install" located in your control panel under "automatic updates".

Please rate FixYa Experts assistance, whether your rating is good or bad helps The experts immensely.
Thank you for taking the time.

If you have a legal copy of windows then click START- Programs - accessories - system tools - activate windows.
This will promt you to an online activation if you are connected to the internet Or give you an 800 number to call microsoft if you dont have internet or there is an issue with your copy of windows.
You will need your Windows cd key code if you have to call them on the telephone.
They will walk you through everything if you call them on that 800 number.
If you have a pirated copy of windows this may cause it to stop working until you get a licensed version..

Microsoft genuine software note

It is what it says - your copy of Windows is pirated and has been deactivated. You need to go back to whomever you bought it from and ask for your money back, or a legal copy.
