Hello,
You can try to reseat it in the right position by moving it a bit left-right, up-down, with the help of tweezers. Don't rock it too much.
Hope it helps.

How can I fix HP12c when keys do not respond?

HP lists on their site (and in user manual) a way to run a key test to see which keys are bad. I'd start there.Type "hp 12c key test" into your search window on your browser and the first thing that comes up should answer it. Took me about 4 seconds to find this.

How to calculate mortgage pmt using hp. I cannot remember the sequence

There is an excellent computer-based tutorial for the HP 12c Platinum on HP's website (although the sequence for TVM calculations is the same for the original 12c).
Download it and have a look. It will guide you key-by-key through the steps.

How do you clear RNP for an HP 12C

I take it you mean a 12C Platinum.

Press f ALG. ALG is the f-shifted function of the EEX key, just above the double-size ENTER key. This will switch the 12C Platinum from RPN mode to Algebraic mode, and ALG indicator will light up instead of the RPN indicator.

To switch back to RPN, press f RPN. RPN is the f-shifted function of the CHS key just above the EEX key.

HP12c seems to not have enough room for numbers BEFORE the decimal point. I try to enter the number "85" and all that will show up is the 8.000000000

Initial Setup

One adjustment is important before we get started. By default the 12C displays only two decimal places. This is not enough. Personally, I like to see five decimal places, but you may prefer some other number. To change the display, press "F" and then the number of decimal places you wish to display. I would press "F 5 " to display 5 decimal places. That's it, the calculator is ready to go.
You need to hold the "F" key.---------

    1. Press and release the gold PREFIX key (f).
    2. Press the number key for the desired number of decimal places (0 through 9).
------------ Click this link below and follow the procedure:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/07/hp-12c-calculator-help.html
----------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Hi leigh_Hall86,

It seems that you're running a 32 bit version of the software on a 64 bit operating system. Or the driver is not longer supported by modern Operating systems. To fix this issue try finding and installing the right driver.

Hope this helped

How do I get the numbers to appear normal. They are showing as expontential figures i.e. 1.6859 04?

To switch out of scientific notation and get back to fixed decimal notation, press the f key followed by the number of digits you want to the right of the decimal point. For example, to get the 12C to show dollars and cents, press f 2.

The display shows comas and misplaced decimals instead of properly placed decimals. For example 4258.32 reads as 4.258,32. How do I fix this on the HP-12c calculator? Thanks

Press and hold the decimal point key then press and release the ON key to swap the radix marks between US and European modes.

I'm doing this from memory because my 12c is at home, but I believe that there is a "fix" key. You need to enter shift-fix-2 (this will set the decimal places to 2).

Display Problem & Question

To remove the comma, turn off the calculator. With it turned off, push and hold down the [ON] key. While still depressing the [ON] key, push and hold down the decimal or [.] key. Now you should have them both held down. Now, release ONLY the [ON] key.

To remove the "c", push then release the [STO] key. Then push and release the [EEX] key.
