Look at the link below as others seem to have a similar issue when the northbridge chipset gets over 45 degrees.

Raheell, I enjoy building and modding. But I would never try to game with only 512 meg of memory. 1gig would be my low end and 2 gig would be average. Just looking at the Game specs and different Counter Strike and Half Life pages. I would check that DDR1 memory and the drivers on your 7200gs. But my bet is lack of memory or the memory is just not the quality for long hard work. Though it is cosair my favorite memory. Does it have heat spreaders on the sticks or stick? Have you investigated the 7200gs. Check out the Counter Strike and Half Life forums. I found some interesting facts. I also would post to CPU (Computer Power User Magazines site) They are the high performance place to go for hardware problems... Just some thoughts... PCdok

You did not list the card specs (AMD/Nvidia model) for reference. If you don't have a card currently get the best AGP 8x card you can find. Keep in mind that that with that CPU a higher end card will probably bottleneck so don't go crazy. Some web consensus is a geforce 5500. Possibly a Radeon 7000 series for higher frames.

Hi,

Yes, according to the Asus website specifications on the A8V Deluxe you are able to run the CPU. You just have to make sure that the CPU you buy is for Socket 939 and not AM2.

Please rate!

This motherboard supports AMD 939 pin Athlon 64 FX/ Athlon 64 processors with 1MB, 512 KB L2 cache which is based on 64 bit architecture. It features 1600 MT/s HyperTransport Bus, dual-channel unbuffered DDR400 memory support and AMD cooling Technology. So you should be able to use the RAM as long as it falls into the above specs.
