Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies
The hp scanner icon that I always clicked on to get the scanner operating has vanished. I have no idea how to retrieve it.
The scanner icon on desktop is just a link to the scanner software, hosted in the Programs folder in Windows.
There are two possible solutions :
1 - Go to Start menu button and find te HP utilities, in Programs. In there locate the scanner icon. Right click on the scanner icon and chose Copy to copy from the dropdown menu, to copy the scanner link. Then paste it onto the Desktop.
2 - Unplug the printer/scanner USB cable and reinstall the HP software suite using original setup CD, and chosing to place an icon on the desktop when asked. This is taking more time, but it will be the best solution.
If you have misplaced HP disk you can download driver file from: HP Support & Driver
