First check to see if the controls have been changed,
one of the dials control overall cooling (freeser) and the other controls a damper that allows cold air from the freeser to travel to the refrigerator.
the other solution could be that there is something in the freeser, food or ice blocking the vent.
one other possibility is that the damper is stuck or frozen still.
if your freezer is ok, it is not a serious problem

Gsc3pgxcfss warm fridge, freezer working fine, lights off in fridge

James, not sure I understand your message when you say both lights go off, but later say lights begin working. Do you mean they go off when you push the buttons at the door? And when you say no cold air comes from the freezer, is the freezer door closed? See if air begins flowing with freezer door open. If so it would indicate the return air path from the refrigerator to freezer is blocked.....damper staying closed or evaporator coil frozen up. The return air path has to be open to allow the freezer to keep sending out cold air to refrigerator when freezer door is closed. You might thoroughly defrost to make sure coil is not frozen.
If the door button for the refrigerator light is bad it can signal that the door is open all the time, so the freezer will never send cold air to the refrigerator. And that will be good news. Door switches are cheap. If you don't have a volt meter and know how to check switch, just remove the door switch from the refrigerator, leaving wires dangling, and close the door with a thermometer inside to see if it begins cooling (or just wait a while) I had that problem a year ago and was happy to find a bad door switch. More often it's a frozen coil, and that can be more expensive to fix. Sometimes you can discover a bad switch by pushing in the door button and the light stays on, but it doesn't sound like your situation.....sounds more like a frozen coil. If so, maybe all this extra information will help someone else.

We have had sears tech's here 3 seperate ocassions. They replaced a circut board, thermostat, and heater on 3 seperate occasions. Today I noticed the refigerator getting warm, looked and the freezer side...

you have an airflow problem in the freezer. Is something blocking the vent in the freezer compartment? cold air is produced in the freezer section and flows to refrigerated side through air vents. If they are blocked, the air cannot flow from the freezer and it will freeze over. Not a major problem, just move your stuff around.

The freezer is on top and stays cold but the refigerator is warm what is the solution

check the fan on the refrigerator, maybe it's not working , thats is the reason why there is no ventilation or distributaion of cold air in your refrigerator.

If it is damaged, just ask a technician to replace it., check first the fuse in the connection, maybe it is busted before thingking of replacing a new fan blower

Amana SCD25tw side by side. Ice cream very soft, freezer blows semi cold air NOT ice cold. refigerator side seemes ok. I checked coil and it is NOT icy.

If the coil is not iced up then it is not a defrost problem but rather if the coils are not completely cold all over then the compressor is failing or the refrigerant has leaked out.

Freezer is ok, but lower section does not stay cold even at max

I think it's a compressor problem, must be compressor air is low .

  4. Test the temperature control
  5. Clean the condensor coils
  6. Check the door seals
  7. Test the door switch
  8. Test defrost heater
  9. Test defrost timer

Freezer is not freezing properly and the refigerator is not cold

You have a defrost problem. The fridge gets cold air from freezer, if ice blocking from no defrost, no fridge temperature.

Fridgedaire modle # FRT18S6AW0 - freezer appears ok (staying cold) but fresh food area gets warm -- door seal appears ok; made sure that the vents on bottom shelf were unobstructed to allow air flow;...

If there is any frost on the back wall of the freezer you have a defrost problem and it is keeping the air from getting to the refrigerator section. Also make sure the condenser under the unit in the back is clean. Lack of air flow to cool the refrigeration can cause the same type of problem.
