Dishwasher motor not turning

I have a Maytag dishwasher with motor S62NXJKR-7560. The motor just hums and does not turn. I have already replaced the motor, the motor start relay and the sequencer. I am at a loss. Do you have any information that might help. Of particular use would be the specifications of each of the four leads to the motor, their use and applicable required voltages.

Check your start/run capacitor. It will be usually a silver oval shaped metal can or a black square plastic block usually mounted on the side or close to the motor.Usually it will be a 10 MFD cap.Unless you have a cap tester your best bet is to take it off and take it to a motor repair/rewind shop for testing. They are not expensive and if you continue to try to run the motor you WILL slowly burn it out. This cap in notorious for getting weak because this cap works full time. But before you go through all that make sure that you can turn the motor first by hand or finger. If all else fails then the windings in the motor have been damaged. Then you will have to get the motor rewound or bye a new one.Rewound is cheaper though.

I do not know this model washer, but i can tell you the motor leads are all powered by 120 VAC. there are4 because one wire is common (wired to) the other 3. each opposite end of the other 3, when powered by 120, turn the motor at different speeds because each of these 3 windings has a different number of coil turns. you can dry test the motor by first determining the common wire, then apply 120 to this wire and then, one at a time, to each of the other wires. do this test using a proven circuit-breaker-ed outlet to reduce risk.

Do you get any humming noise when you turn it ON?

How long its been you used the dishwasher last time...?

If you are getting an humming noise then Sounds like the water circulator pump is stuck. The motor tries to turn it (humming noise), but cannot. So a breaker trips (self reset). Not claiming this is actually the problem, but this is what the motor turns.

Maytag dishwasher won't drain after i repaird a leaky gasket

The issue is almost certainly with the motor. Possibly the wires that were accidentally interrupted, and if not, it is jambed. It has nothing to do with your replacing the door gasket if you never touched the motor. If it is jammed, remove piping attached to flange and loosen until you see the impeller. Rotate the impeller . If it turns easily, problem possibly not motor. Let me know.

Dishwasher GU1500 Whirlpool--motor just hums and blades do not turn. Dishwasher fills correctly and drains well.

this strongly indicates the motor capacitor - normally mounted on or close to the motor. easy to replace and a cheap part. also possible motor seized - disconnect from mains and see if motor turns by hand

Maytag mdb6000awb dishwasher will not start the washing cycle

Well, I fixed it. (It might be too late for the first post - I hope not - but it will hopefully help the next person, SOLUTION: Using a six point star bit, I opened the inside door panel. I carefully removed the inside panel from the door and noticed two rectangular modular connectors that connect on eitherside of the door latch assembly. One of them was loose/disconnected. I reconnected the loose/disconnected modular connector. All is working now. My Model # is MDBTT60AWB. I hope it helps.

Dishwasher does not cycle

Yes, you'll need to replace the motor. Though you may not need to remove the machine from under the counter.
