Lexmark 2500 printer problems

I have changed a colour cartridge on my printer. Now when I try to print I keep getting the message to align the cartridge. I follow the instructions but on completion I still can't print any documents. It keeps forcing me to align the catridge even after I have already done it. I'm going round in circles and would appreciate any help.

Plz uninstall the printer catridge from the printer and again reinstall it , then uninstall the printer driver and again reinstall the driver properly

Its very possible the new cartridge is faulty. I would suggest getting another one. Some new cartridges are acutually refurbished and just refilled and sold. Eventually they stop working correctly.

Printer keeps giving alignment problem message


hello, remove cartridges, clean with something soft the wiring of both printer cartridge slot and cartridge itself, make sure you use alcohool, sanitary or even parfume wich dries fast and is not greasy, after that power up printer and check to see if everything is alright, if other error ocurs reply here.

You could try to remove and reinstall your color cartridge again.Do a Clean Cartridges cycle.Then do an Align Cartridges cycle.

Silly question, have you inserted cartridges in their right compartment?

Id yes!, To save yourself time, suggest you remove printer prog and reinstall latest update from Lexmark, rememeder to leave printer switched on while setting up

Run the printer software to do an "alignment" -- basically, it prints one page,
and then you scan the page, and the printer reads the printed page, to measure the "offset"
from where the BLACK versus the COLOUR ink prints. It will then electronically adjust the printer.

My lexmark x 5650 keeps saying alignment error, try to remove tape. I've done this multiple times, tried cleaning the cartridge, and it keeps saying alignment problem. ive unplugged and plugged back in...


alignment error usually means that one cartridge is not printing, or paper tray is empty.
try removing both cartridges then stamp each printhead on some folded tissue paper. You should get one solid strip of black ink with the black cart and 3 colour strips with the colour cart.
If you don't...there is your problem.

If you have tried all that the only other thing that I could think of is the cartridge being defective. You can call Lexmark @ 1-800-332-4120 they may be able to help you replace the cartridge.

try to make sure that the clear "ribbon" is situated correctly inside the unit, otherwise it will not communicate correctly with the moving electronics in the cartridge tray
