I have a Verbatim USB flash drive that my computer is no longer r

I used my USB Verbatim flash drive yesterday with no problem at all. This morning, I went to work on some things and my pc no longer recognizes the flash drive. My pc recognizes other usb / external items that I plug in, but not this particular one. The light on the flash drive doesn't come on when I plug it in as it normally does.

I just have some questions to ask before we get started.
Does the other USB devices work on that port of your machine?
Or have you tried to use that USB Verbatim flash drive on another USB port?
Have you installed any newly softwares?

How do I use this product? How do I select and copy file to the USB flash drive?

Plug it into the usb port and go to 'my computer' there you will se the drive most likely named verbatim, double click to open it.

Then open a new window and find the file you would like to transfer, simply click on it and drag and drop it into the usb drives window and wait for the file transfer to finish.

USB Drive no longer responding

Ok,

So it wasn't obvious damage then lets do the next step, Right-Click on My Computer, then select Manage, when the MMC opens select Device Manager on the left side, Open USB Devices and look for USB mass Storage controller. If it is not there then it's likely the controller board in the Verbatim shell is dead.

If that is the case, your best bet will be to drop by a local computer store and purchase an empty HDD enclosure to move the drive into.

If it does show up as a USB mass storage controller but not as a drive the problem is more likely in the circuitry of the HDD itself and you may require the assistance of a data recovery pro.

Verbatim 1GB flash drive data recovery

Sounds like you broke something ;)

If your computer does not recognize anything when you plug it into the computer, your problem is most likely a broken contact inside the usb drive.

You should attempt to open the drive, and see if one of the four contacts on the inside of hte usb key are no longer making their way to the circuit board, and try to reconnect it.

IF you can push the connectors down with your fingers and make contact temporarily, and the computer recognizes it, try to just hold it there while you copy all your data off. Then throw away the flash drive.

Verbatim 1G flash

I expect you have tried something else in the USB?
Look at the contacts is all I can suggest.
Could be an internal fracture from rough handling.
