Hi I am Vortash Adware is basically just what it sounds like .. a program put onto your computer (spyware cookie ) that inserts annoying pop ups into the browser at almost every which way you turn .. some very invasive and will not allow you to read the browser .. A good Spyware securitty program will usually eleiminate most adware .
...........................
A back door is again a spyware cookie or a planted pre- programmed entrance to your computer programs that by pass the security protocols some computer companies that repair systems have been know to install back doors to facillitate entry into customer computers when the customer has forgotten their own passwords . So basically it is as it implies a means of entering your computer via a backdoor program access point . In the UK an act called The Data Protection Act Prohibits the installation and use of back door protocools and all back door spyware is deemed illegal .
Hope this Helps Regards Vortash

They're both times of Malware (Malicious Software). Adware usually causes a lot of popups while surfing the internet, it can also be in the form of a program that acts like an Anti-Virus that tells you that your computer has viruses but tries to sell you a product to remove them. If that's the case, don't do it! Backdoor is referring to a type of virus that allows hackers to get into your computer without you knowing it. The virus essentially allows them to sneak in a "backdoor." I use Avast Antivirus to check for viruses and Ad-Aware to check for Ad-ware. They both have free versions which I've linked to above. Avast does require you to register for a serial or key once a year I believe but it is free and has never let me down. Ad-Aware's free version does not run automatically so you do have to run it manually every once in a while. Recommend around once a month.

Dear these two terms are breifly explained below:

Adware - A program that generates popups on your computer or displays advertisements. It is important to note that not all adware programs are necessarily considered malware. There are many legitimate programs that are given for free that display ads in their programs in order to generate revenue. As long as this information is provided up front then they are generally not considered malware.

Backdoor - A program that allows a remote user to execute commands and tasks on your computer without your permission. These types of programs are typically used to launch attacks on other computers, distribute copyrighted software or media, or hack other computers.

Hope you have the answer to your question.

Best Regards.
