Request you to check speed of 2 gb ram with old 512 gb, if u r using 2 strrips of 1-1 gb then first remove both and resinstall old 512 again, and checked, again install both 2 gb ram and check. if after installation of 2 gb ram laptop is not restarting the problem is only with speed of ram. u may need to install ram with proper matching speed

Is it possible to up grade a asus eee fizz book

Yes it is possible to upgrade the ram and the harddrive, there will be little blanking plates on the back of the laptop, they are held in by small screws, undo the screws and you will have access to the memory and the harddrive. If you are unsure take it to a pc store and ask if they could find out what type of memory and harddrive is needed to upgrade. hope this helps.

Eee pc 900ha upgrade problems..

be sure that it is the same kinda ram ... I mean the frequency ...anyway ..go to bios..by pressing del on boot ...and look for some that says optimal factory defaults ... click ... ..after that press F10 to confirm and restart ... if after that will not read the 2 G ...you have to reinstall the operation system to make it see i t...
do not worry cause everithing is fine ..if the ram unit you add was damaged ..you should been having problems booting ....the solution for your problems was to remove tha Bios batery for a few seconds ..but Im not sure how easy is to get to it on this model ...
anyway if you want to see if they are readed ..just right click on My computer ..and properties and it should show all that is on it ...cpu...ram memory ...operation system..
the final solution is to reinstall .but it is a recommended one in all upgrading of this kind..cause the real changes in speed and promptness are like rockets fire...
anyway ..to be honest on all models the speed depends on the cpu size also...

Asus Eee PC 900 which has a weird problem

hello

The problem you are facing is a very common problem.

The memory dumping statement show that you RAM is dying and soon it will be dead.

Replacing the RAM would solve the problem.

Thank you

I changed my1G ram in my asus 900ah to a 2g CrucialDDR2

As reported on the EeeUser forum, the EeePC 900 is somewhat picky with RAM upgrades. If the RAM chip is not exactly spec’d like the stock RAM module, then the computer would be prone to freezing, especially when switching between battery and mains power.

Also, note that the RAM module that came with the EeePC 900 is an AData PC2-3200 (running at 400 MHz) with part number DOGC1A08342. I find it strange that the chip is a 400 MHz one. Even the original 512MB chip that came with my EeePC 701 was a 667 MHz one!
This means if you plan to upgrade your 900’s RAM, better make sure the module is compatible!

P.S.: If this information was helpful, please rate this solution.

I put 2gb of DD2 ram in 800 mhz it wont show a screen? To fast of

Eee PC models use 533/667 MHz DDR2 RAM via a standard SO-DIMM module.

The hardware supports up to 4GB (2GB for the 1000 series, and some of the 900 series).
