Message on screen 'Message waiting'. Do not know what it means
While ever the phone system is idle there is a message across the centre of the screen stating 'Message Waiting'. I have no idea why it is there or what it means. I have been having trouble receiving faxes and wonder if the message is related. The fax line is through the phone. No trouble sending faxes. Phone works well.

The message centre ensures that your text message is sent to the recipient. If the wrong message centre number is saved in your phone, the text message can't be sent.
Set up your phone for text messaging
Find "Text messages"
Press the message icon.
Press the menu icon.
Press Text messages. Save the message centre number
Press Message centre.
Key in +35387699989 and press OK. Return to the home screen
Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
There is another reason you are having the message waiting indicator besides having a message waiting, it also means the phones messages are full and some messages need to be deleted. Once you have deleted some messages, then you will be able know if you have any message waiting or its just a symbol to show that your message is full.
Hope this information helped
Go to Messaging --> Press Options --> Text Message --> Message Centre --> If SIM Message centre number hasn't been changed please use that by choosing it via the Message centre in use option.
If number was changed, try creating a new one by going back to message centres --> Press Options --> New message centre (Inquire with your provider what message centre number you will use if you don't know)
This feature is country dependent and may not appear in some countries. If you have subscribed to the voicemail service from your local service provider, icon turns on when you have a new message in your mailbox. After you have accessed to all the new messages, icon will turn off automatically. If you find that the message waiting indication cannot be turned off by the network, you can still turn off the message waiting indication with your phone by the following step :
In idle mode, if voice mail waiting icon is on, long press the redial key to turn off the voice mail waiting icon. Once you choose to delete the message waiting indication, all the other handsets registered to the same base station will turn off the message waiting indication accordingly.
Delete messages in sent items. It should work now.....
If not make sure that message centr no. is the right one. Contact customer care if u dont know message centr no.
If problem persists, use some other handset and try sending message. If message sending fails in other handsets too then priblem is related to SIM or network.Complain to the customer care.Wait for their response. If the network is OK,then the last option is to apply for replacement with a new SIM .!!!
This is almost certainly a problem with your phone not having the correct Message Centre settings (have you ever used this phone with a different carrier?).
The Message Centre number can be found in Messaging/Settings/Text Message/Text Message Centre. You will probably need to check with your Service Provider to get the correct number, although you may find it on their website.
Call you network provider(Whose SIM service you are using) and ask them to tell you the MESSAGE CENTRE NUMBER,then go to you message setting and then in TEXT MESSAGE SETTINGS go in the message centre number and type that number in the settings.then turn you cell phone off and then turn that on again, wait for one minute and then try sending you text messages
