Question about Crosley CR248 Turntable

Phonograph vs Cassette Player

When the function is set at Phonograph, the cassette player works, but the phonograph never works.  It does record, and the tuner works, just no phonograph function.

My turntable does not revolve. I believe that the belt has come off. How can I replace it?

The phonograph makes "noise" when the needle is placed on the record, but the turntable won't revolve. Is it supposed to revolve as soon as you put it on "phono?"

Is your needle tight.  It has to be tight for it to work

Is there any universal remotes that will work with a spirit of st louis radio, cd player, and phonograph? son broke the remote.

There are, but it's..... hit and miss.
The remotes don't cover all remote devices.

You will need the serial # and the brand B-4 you shop for a remote.

Not available from the manufacturer?

If you trace back the wires from the deck to where it leads in the amp you should find a small pre-amp board. Hoepfully you will see a single IC on it. If you do replace that.

Could be two separate faults. First a switch that does not make contact when you move the arm. Then dirt on the CD lens.
If you can hear sound from any other function it is unlikely to be an IC problem.

Either get a self-pre-amplified phono or an old school one connected to the PHONO section of old school electronics.

The Radio,Cassette Player/Recorder. and CD Player all work. The Phonograph Does Not!

if it arrived by mail then the sender might have screwed the transit screws down to avoid damaging the phono , i am not familiar with memorex but if like most turntables there should be some big screw heads visible on the top of the phono or possibly even under the platter all you have to do is unwind the screws until the platter unit moves freely [you should be able to push it up and down a little bit ]
