New Danby dishwasher - no water flowing into it

I've used this new Danby dishwasher about three or four times. It is in my RV. The last time I used it was about a month ago. I turned it on and it ran and ran. However, the dial didn't appear to move much. I opened it up after about 1/2 hour and there was no water coming into the unit. Dry as a bone in there. It sounds like everything is running correctly except, I can't get any water to flow into the unit. I checked the shutoff value but it is on. Is it possible to have a plugged line? Or, does anyone have any idea of why the water would not be going intot the dishwasher?

Thank you.

It sounds like the shut off valve has failed and not letting water into the unit, change the valve and it should work, even if it turns like it is working doesn't mean the washer isn't stuck keeping water from comming thru

I got a 2005 homestead rv and the water pipe broke or froze up how can I check and fix it

Water pipes in RV are Pex, which is not the same as PVC. Pex will freeze, but is designed to not burst when frozen. If you have located the broken pipe, it is simple to replace. Using a PVC cutter (looks like cheap shears) cut out the broken piece. Most likely the pipe size will be 1/2 inch. Pex comes in three different colors: white, red, and blue. Most likely the RV pipe will be white, but the color does not matter as the pipe is of the same material. Pex can be bought at stores like Home Depot, Lowes, or other hardware stores. The connector fittings can be bought at the same stores. The simplest to use fittings are the push-on self sealing fittings. There are cheaper fittings, but they take special tools to install them. The estimated cost of a 2 foot distance pipe repair is about $10 to $15. The time required depends on how difficult it is to "get to" the broken pipe.

Loud noise filling water

Probably heat trap nipples, or other constriction in pipes.

Hot water thermostats only lasting 15 minutes. My old Beasley solar hot water system is causing thermostats to stop working within 15 minutes of them being installed. I have had four new thermostats

try using the services of an electrician when fitting electrical components
the thermostats only stop/ start electrical power to the elements and will not control the temp of solar systems
if they physically burn the points , there must be an electrical short of some sort so an electrician in to test circuitry is in order

What sort of lpm rate would suit a normal home with fairly good water pressure

This is just what I would say for an average family of four during hours of peak usage. You should be okay with a flow rate of twenty to twenty four lpm, assuming you have rapid enough recovery. This is based on one shower at a time and not running dishwasher or clothes washer at the same time.If you are using hot water from multiple fixtures then increase accordingly.Hope this helps. Thanks

Have no hot water flowing at all from my Atwood hot water heater. cold ok tank full?

Hi and welcome to Fixya.

Here are 2 manuals that should help you in troubleshooting your RV hot water problem.

Multiple times there is a ref. to resetting the reset switch for 30 seconds on the unit (cover removal required)

For the ignition:

http://www.atwoodmobile.com/manuals/waterheaters/MPD%2093757%20PS%2011.19.07.pdf

For the water heater:

http://www.atwoodmobile.com/manuals/waterheaters/MPD%2093050%20PS%204.9.09.pdf

The manuals as written are full of warnings mixed in with meaningful text. (Not user friendly)

When the water stops flowing, there is a sharp-thud sound presumably in the unit.

If your thermal expansion tank is older than three years, it is probably time to replace it. There is a diaphragm inside the tank that goes bad over time. Before replacing this tank, if you have recently purchased a new washing machine, this may be the problem if it does not have hammer arrestors on it as well.
