Question about Kenmore Ovens
I thought I had turned my oven off and left for the other room and came back 20 minutes later and found it still on. I finally had to turn the breaker off to get it to turn off. Tried again and same results. My question is, will this be a cheap fix if I call a repair man or should I just purchase a new oven since it's over 8 years old. I'm not sure of the model, but it's a Kenymore Electric Glass Top Single Oven.
Ok, due to the age of this unit, the repair will be costly. the issue here is a damaged control board. the control will run a little over 200 dollars and that without the labor charge. standard labor charges will vary form 50 to 75 dollars an hour and , there is a 2 hour standard start charge automatically leaved once the repair man arrives. this will bring your repair bill to the 300 dollar mark. you may be able to find a cheap repairman but, the price will be hovering in the 230 to 290 range a t best.
It would be more cost affective to purchase a new unit with a new warranty as well.
