Question about Heating & Cooling
R1003A3 Goldstar air conditioner is not cooling. The fan is running. When I turn the thermostat past 7, the unit shuts down. Any ideas? Low on Freon?
Sounds like a leak to me - if you have a set of guages available (know anyone working in the refrigeration field???) you could tell this for certain. Otherwise, try running it when it cools down outside and see what happens. Take a stick thermometer, and put it in between the fins on the INSIDE condenser coil. If they get cooler, but not down to about 50 degrees, then you are low on refrigerant.
