It's hard to believe this is normal, because it is very annoying when the picture is panning across as scene.

The text along the sides of the tv screen are not completely in view

you need to change the 'zoom' on the tv by the remote.
Normal mode frames the 4:3 video to the 16:9 picture area by displaying it in its original aspect ratio, with vertical gray or black bars on both sides of the screen. The disadvantage of this method is the fact that the image is small by virtue of not using the entire width of the screen. This is also known as the 4:3 mode.
Full mode Full mode horizontally stretches the 4:3 video evenly across the entire width of the screen. This is the proper mode to display anamorphic video. If used for standard aspect ratio video, everything on the screen will appear wider than normal. Contrast this with anamorphic video displayed without processing on a 4:3 display, in which people on the screen will appear taller than normal. This is also known as the 16:9 mode.
Zoom mode Zoom mode evenly stretches the picture both horizontally and vertically, until the picture fills the entire width of the screen. This crops out the top and bottom of the picture. This mode is used for letterboxed and open matte video.
14:9 mode Main article: 14:9
In 14:9 mode, the picture is magnified more than in Normal mode, but less than in Zoom mode, while retaining the original aspect ratio.
Wide Zoom mode Wide Zoom mode, also called Just mode, Horizon, or Smart Stretch, progressively stretches the picture horizontally, less in the middle and more on the edges. This allows normal aspect ratio video to be displayed across the entire width of the screen, with minimal cropping, and with much less of the unpleasing visual stretching effect of Full mode.

My screen appears to be 'zoomed in' note that this is not a resolution issue nor is it just a web browser page that i have zoomed in on using the mouse wheel. My screen was zoomed when the log in screen...

This sounds as if you have the magnifier on if you are using Windows. What the magnifier does is just what you are describing. It zooms in on part of the screen and lets you pan around the screen when you move the mouse to the edge. Unfortunately, I do not know which version you have. If you have XP, you can view this webpage for specific instructions: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/accessibility/magnifierturnon.mspx.
If you have another version, to change it, click on Start Menu>Programs>Accessories>Ease of Access. It should be found there. Once you open it, you should be able to turn it off and go back a normal screen.
I hope this solves your problem. Let me know if it does not.

Poor sound quality

A new LCD TV has expansion sound capabilities requiring adjustment to acheive viewer experience. First, the TVs default sound is what is heard soon as the powered on. Tempering with the remote controls volume fucntionalities to achieve adjustment suitable. The volume feature on the remote produces adjustment either reduceable or increasing sound magniftude. Hower, the LCD TV is capable of producing extensive qualility sound with separate devices that generate sound. For example, acquring an external speaker system mentionable as home theatre system has already build blusting capabilities requirements. Once an external home theater sould producer devices are connected to the LCD TV, the expansion capability is increased. For example, the home theatre devices have woofers as bass magnifiers, tweeters as sound impression magnififers, and additionally, speakers with magnifier capacities. The LCD TV is designed to accomodate any extenal devices only mentionable example as the home theater sound sytems acquirable at retail. LCD TV sound capacities are capable of being modulated by using the remote control to access the settings areas on which sound is alteratered. Using outlook or word with Windows 7 PC, font size will suddenly change. Why? Magnifying glass pops up, unasked, by cursor. Annoying. Why? thanx for any help

Hello!

It sounds like Windows Magnifier is turned on, which is one of the tools available through the "Ease of Access Center".

To quickly exit the Magnifier (for the time-being), press the Windows key + Esc simultaneously. This key combination toggles the Magnifier on/off. (Windows key has the Windows Logo on it, usually between the left-sided "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys on typical keyboard).

To disable the Magnifier altogether:
Ensure you are logged in as an administrator or user that is a member of administrators group.
Click "Start", then click "Control Panel". Then click a blue & white icon labeled "Ease of Access Center". Look below the initial "Quick access to Common Tools" boxes at top of page, to a section called "Explore all settings". Click on the link "Make the Computer Easier To See", which brings up the section which pertains to the visual display. At the bottom of that page, there is a section labeled "Make things on the screen appear larger, below it a link, then a check box "Turn on Magnifier". Uncheck this box, and ensure nothing else on the page is checked. Click "Apply", then click "OK".

This should turn off the magnifier completely for the system. For future reference, should you ever need the Magnifier tool, you will see a small magnifying glass icon on the taskbar - click that to open the Magnifier toolbar, and you can then set how the magnifier works and where it works, and whether or not it follows mouse movement or is docked. Handy sometimes, as things on some screens can be rather difficult to read when print is especially tiny. If you have the issue of not being able to read icons or their labels on the desktop, or on the system as a whole, you can adjust this by opening "Control Panel" and then "Display" - where you can set the screen text and icon sizes to "small" "medium" or "large" to suit your needs - it's much easier and alot less annoying than Magnifyer can be - just something to keep in mind should you ever need it.

Hope this info helped you! If for some reason you have any additional problems, or get stuck, please come back and let us know...best of luck!
