Question about Karcher K 2.25 R Electric Pressure Washer

1 Answer

Pressure gun will not work, you have to disconnect the pressure hose, reconnect it, then it will work as long as you do not release the handle, if you do, you have to start that whole disconnect, reconnect process over again. It wastes time and we will not even mention the aggravation! What do we need to do?

How do I release the hose from the gun

Most wands are factory assembled to the hose, they don't come apart. It's a safety issue, if it came undone with 1500 psi on the hose, the operator would likely be injured by the flying hose and/or the water stream.

I have a honda 2600 pressure washer. After running fine for a couple of seconds the water will stop flowing out the tip. It is receiving water, but will not flow it to the pressure hose. I even disconnected...

This happens when air gets inside the hose. An air bubble of sorts is in the hose and will not build pressure until you blow the air out of the line. Start the pressure washer, turn on the water. pull the trigger on the gun. It will spitter and spatter and come to a trickle. release the trigger on the wand. Pull the trigger again and it will eventually work it self out.

I bought a honda pressure washer power boss 3000. I load the gasoline, start the machine, but pressure water is not coming out from the trigger. i tried so many things , but can t get started.

If you are using a water tank for water supply, remove the water supply line from the pressure washer and connect a water hose from a faucet. Turn the water on, then crank the engine. Pull the trigger of the spray gun until water comes out. When then water starts to spray properly the release the trigger, shut engine down with pressure on the line then reconnect the water supply from the tank to the pressure washer. If this fixes the problem then the problem was "air-locked"! Happens alot with new pressure washers that have never been run. If you need any other help, please email me @

Not enough pressure through the hose

This issue usually comes from a clog in the output of the pump. Isolate the clog by checking one item at a time.

With the engine OFF, disconnect the output hose from the pump. Turn the output fitting to an open and clear area and startup the engine. If pressure and volume are good then you have a clog in the hose or the gun. Reconnect the hose but unscrew the gun. Test again. If tests OK the gun or the tip is clogged. Reconnect gun and disconnect tip...etc.

Going back to the first test, if pressure and volume are NOT good at the pump outlet fitting, you have a stuck unloader valve in the pump. Add a few ounces of penetrating oil to the SUPPLY hose fitting and restart the engine. Allow the oil to flow thru the entire unit. Repeat several times if needed. For preventive measures, always add some LIGHT oil to the supply hose and startup the unit after each use. This will keep calcium buildup to a minimum.

    Hope this helps,

    No pressure

It is probably air locked....Here's what you need to do. Connect the garden hose, and HP hose, but not the gun. Turn on the water, and let it run while you make sure that there are no high points in the garden hose that can trap air....Work the hose so that any air is displaced through the pressure washer. Continue in this manner through the HP hose. Shut off the water and connect the gun. Turn the hose back on, and operate the gun for several minutes, pulling the trigger and releasing. This alternately allows the water pressure to build up on house pressure and then to depressure, pulling residual air from the system. Release the trigger, and start the machine. Usually, this is enough to get full washing pressure. If it is very difficult to start, you can hold the trigger down on the gun and pull the start cord at the same time. Holding the trigger down acts as an unloader, making the starting easier.
Hope that this helps, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution! Thanx!

    Karcher pistol gun has broken

i do not think there is a pressure release valve , sounds like the plastic inside the pistol has become brittle and has failed under pressure , you dont say how old the pistols are ? and if you run strong detergents through them .

    Powermate pressure washer Model PW0872400

pressure washers has this pressure switches where in as you press on the trigger, the washer works and if you release it, the pressure would build up high and it would trip this switch to turn off the motor or deflect the water to the by pass hose ( if the motor is not stopping) then as you press again the trigger, water should come out of the gun again but would not,

i have encountered the problem is in the pressure switch, even the pressure went down, sometimes it wont close the contact then the motor wont run ,

if the motor is continously running, then the trigger switch is the problem, the pressure excerted on the switch is so high that even if you press it , it won't open up to release the water.

what i can suggest is to tie the trigger in the gun so that it is always pressed and then just unplug the unit if you want to stop using it. it is an inconvenience but it will work.

or, open the gun and see if you can figure out why pressing the trigger would not open the switch.

another option is you can lower the pressure of the washer if it has an adjustable pessure controller. by lowering the pressure might open the switch when ever you press the trigger.

i hopw i was able to fix...

    good luck,
