We have Dyson Animal vacuum, we were trying disassemble the vacuum unit because it's clogged but cannot disassemble.  We have already cleaned the filter out, but still not suctioning is not what it was at the beginning.

Wood chip logged and is causing hose to collapse. Cleaned filter, opened tunnel between hose and canister. Can't figure out where to go from here.

Dyson working but not well. As an upright, it works okay, but not as good as usual. The hose has very little suction. I suspect a clog somewhere past the hose; the filters are fine. Taken it apart as far as I know how, but the star screws and suggested fix befuddle me.

There are 4 (I believe only 4) screws with a "star driver" head on them inside the bottom of the unit (two are flush mounted and two are recessed about 1/4" inside a hole) that can be removed to allow access to the interior to remove pet hair etc.  However, only two are easily accessible and require a long star driver.  The other two would require a tool that has a flexible neck on it that would still allow you to use the star bit as they are located near the larger holes you can see inside the bottom of the canister.

Overheating dyson dc14

Probably has a blockage (like that's a surprise). Seriously if you have pets, these vacuums get 'hair-balls' that clog passages, overheat and will shut themselves off to protect the motor. You pretty much have to disassemble to vacuum and clean it thoroughly. You'll usually find the problem while taking it apart. I take mine apart (not the same model) about once a month. I have dogs ...

Stopped up, I cleaned all filters and hoses, but still stopped up, can't find the blockage

your cyclones are clogged. It's a common problem with the dyson dc17. I have one and just found out by googling it. The only way to fix it if Dyson won't is to disassemble it to get it completely clean. You can google this and there are complete instructions and photos so you can do it yourself.

Upright positon dyson won't work

Have you checked your permanent filter? Have you checked the hoses for clogs. As a last resort you can disassemble the cyclone and clean it. If the vac is less than 5 years old, Dyson will probably send you a new Cyclone to replace yours.
Also check that you have the gasket inside the center of the bottom of the clear canister on the right way. If it is backwards your suction will be much less

Problems with Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Vacuum very little suction coming from the hose. cleaned filter and suction has not improved. Please help. Thanks

Two possible solutions come to mind. First off, there is a clog in your hose. If you have another vacuum, try using the hose on that one to **** it out.
If that doesn't work, you may need to have the clutch replaced. Check your warranty. The clog wont be covered, but the clutch will be,

Loss of suction with hoss & wand with my Dyson Animal bagless - will only work as an upright.

It sounds like you have a clog through the hose. Take the entire hose off of the unit and stick a broomstick through, if it comes out the other end without anything coming with it. The clog is in the sweep below the unit. If your mechanically inclined you should not have any issues, if you do have a problem, take it to your local vacuum shop

Dyson dc17 animal motor spindle keeps clogging

If you have animals get rid of the dyson and go to a vacuum that has a metal brushroll and better airflow. There is no fix on the dyson they just are not good on hair of any kind.

Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum

you just need to blow those holes out with a air compressor or similiar device and the filter can be washed in water and dried for 24 hours every once in a while, this is just how the vacuum works, nothing is perfect

Dyson noise.

Check all ports for a clog, there are removable covers you can take off, also check the hose for a clog. Make sure all filters are clean. Worse case is a problem with the motor.
