there will be a button called home in your camera. if you press it then there will be customized settings with as many options.in that there is a tab called settings when you scroll sideways.if you press for it another set of options appear. in that set of options there will be an option called "initalize" as the last option . if you select that option your camera will be reset to the original factory settings.hope your problem is tackled. have a nice day

- if you dont find the 'home' button near the lcd screen go for the menu button when the camera is in preview mode...if you still dont get the accurate solution the procedure to reset you camera will be present the instruction manual.you can take it as a reference.if you lost that book the instruction manual will be present in the cd that came with your device in the form of soft copy...sorry if you dont find this solution as unsuitable. and happy if your problem is tackled. have a nice day. glvenu

I just got this problem started on my Sony DSC T3, the screen is all black but I can review old photos form the memory card. Sony service center does not honour the recall in Toronto. They want tocharge me $50 for diagnosis and more for repair thereafter. If Sony knows this is their common problem, then why has it set a time frame on it. AS someone else has written, even I am souring from sony product, but I have invested in spare battery and a lots of SONY memory cards, which do not work in any other camera.
