Yeah the old PSU burned out so I replaced it. The pc starts up, the drives all work and i can hear the processor or whatever power up, but all my attatchments wont respond.

didn't work. I unplugged the floppy drive and removed the data ribbon, and still the problem is there. I am using a usb wireless keyboard, but I also tried a PS2 keyboard, none of them work.

not sure how that can be related to a PSU replacement, is it booting at all?

why did you replace PSU? if it blew...it may have caused damage to the mainboard.

either that or you have not connected PSU correctly

This is so familiar.... sounds like you've toasted your mainboard....
this could have been caused by a power surge, or by overclocking, or just when your PSU blew (it may have spiked your board as the voltage regulators failed), definately sounds like your graphics card/on-board graphics may be toasted too.

unsure if you have lost your PS2 ports and your on-board USB ports as you have no graphics output.

is it an on-board graphics card, do you have a spare/old graphics card you can test your system with?

if you cannot get your graphics systems working then you will need to replace your mainboard,

Believe it or not, if you have a floppy drive in your computer, try unplugging it and disconnecting the data ribbon. Many times, damaged floppy drives can short out motherboard functions and even prevent computers from powering up. If that doesn't fix it, then get a usb keyboard and mouse set (wireless would be fine) or borrow some, and see if they work. If they do, then the power outage damaged the PS2 ports.

If the fan that is working is the outside fan on the power supply and if your case is well ventillated there wont be a problem. If not then buy a new power supply.

I have an Antec Truepower 2.0 TPII-430. This power supply provides power to the fans but when I push the computer power-up button, nothing happens. I installed another similar power supply and everything...

Test it. Unplug the molex connector from the mothrboard. You can use a wire or a paper clip to test it to power on. You will connect (short) pin 14 to and ground pin. (diagram here) For example, put one end of the paper clip into pin 14, and the other end into 13, 15, or 16. If the power supply turns on and fan running then maybe a problem with the front panel switch on the computer case.
P.S. make sure you unplug all other leads to drives before doing this.

It is best you replace this power supply.
These power supplies have dangerous voltages inside the unit and if you do not have electronic knowledge, any mistakes you make can be fatal.

Why wont the mouse, keyboard and monitor not work after cpu, pwer supply install...

If the motherboard used to work with the old cpu and power supply, but does not with the new cpu and power supply, then probably the cpu or power supply is bad.
Why did you change the cpu and power supply?
If the power supply went bad, it could have overloaded the mother board as well as the old cpu.
If you think the old cpu went bad, how do you know it was not actually the motherboard that went bad?
All I can suggest is that you double check all the connections.
If you have USB mouse and keyboard, try a DIN connected pair.
If you are using the onboard graphics, try a PCI express card instead.
Tell us if there is any front light activity from the power switch, drive, etc.?

If you "popped" the power supply, I would check to see if the RAM might have taken a hit as well. Ram chips and CPU are sensitive when it comes to power surges. I would troubleshoot the system, unplug everything. you need monitor, power, cpu, and ram (1 at a time). Check to see if the system will POST. if you do get it to POST, start with 1 item at a time and see if the system will POST every time. If nothing happens, there is a chance you may have a damaged motherboard or cpu.

I replaced my power supply with a new Antec 650

Let give it a try.
Turn off your computer and unplug it from main supply. Remove the battery for cmos bios. wait half an hour. insert battery again and reset the cmos through jumpers. Plug the main supply and start your computer.
May be it can help you.
