Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a Bosch dishwasher and the upper arm that spins and dispenses water has come off. There is a bracket on the back wall with 2 protruding pieces and an open whole in the middle which seems like the water comes out of it. There are 2 metal "clips" on the side of this braket which seems like the plate part of the spining arm should be able to attach to it.. I cannot figure out how..Any helo would be apprecated..

On Bosh dishwasher you just slide the upper arm vertically until it snaps in place. The arm attachment will snap automatically into the clips, onto upper dishrack, unless the upper arm is damaged

I have a Bosch dishwasher - fed0db6.jpg

If the arm does not snap in place, then the attachment to rack is damaged, in that case replace the arm. A workaround solution is also fixing the spray arm to the rack with two plastic O rings (I have done that , and it works, just tie them firmly to the rack).

You can get parts entering model number here.

The dishwasher doesn't seem to have nearly enough water in it. The upper sprayer arm doesn't seem to be spinning when running (I open the door and look really quick) and the lower one looks like it barely...

I would lift the drain pipe higher. approx. 1/2 the height of the dishwasher . also rechack incomming water supply. Make sure no blockages and the like. Try again.

Sprayer arms not spinning

I know this sounds too simple, but on My dishwasher which is an SHX46b model, the plastic supply arm that comes out of the pump and supplies the upper arm popped out of it's correct position at the base. It is held in place by two dinky nibs. I just popped it back in and voila, pressure was back and arms were spinning.

Hi there I have a Bosch SGV4313GB/17 Dishwasher the problem is there insuffient water pressure to feed the washer arm and they are not rotating Ihave cleaned the arms and circulation pump...

Sounds like you have a seal or impeller problem. Its not so user friendly to try and tackle this one. I suggest that you try to contact an expert to do the job for you. I believe this is a common problem for Bosch dishwashers.

Well, another possibility is that your check valve (stops water from coming back) is busted. This seldom happens but you might want to check it out. I hope this helps you in isolating the problem.

Clogged water dispenser in Bosch dishwasher

Hi, Logmanup (slight bouts with dyslexia, sorry)

By "spinning water dispensers", I assume you mean the spray arms, right? OK... if they are getting clogged with debris it would be nice to know what kind of debris. Pieces of broken glass? Plastic? Lime scale? Iron? And yes, when they get clogged they won't rotate, won't allow pressurized water through and therefore won't clean the dishes.

For the purpose of this solution, I'll assume that there are little white particles clogging up the jets on the spray arms. This indicates hard water and lime scale build up.

Other than completely disassembling the entire motor/pump assy. (you really don't want to go there), the best way to clear this out of the system is to use an over the counter chemical called Dishwasher Magic or something similar. If the lime scale build up is really bad (and it sounds like it is), use a couple of bottles to start with and follow up with a bottle per month thereafter.

As an aside... If I assumed correctly about the lime scale build up, that means that it's also affecting other appliances as well. Mainly, your hot water heater. If you haven't done it before, please read this to perform maintenance on it. And a product something like this for your washing machine.

I hope this was helpful. Let us know if this works or not. If not, please write back and we'll go a little deeper.

Bosch dishwasher - top row of dishes do not get clean

There is a screen that you can remove from the sump of the dishwasher to clean. Just twist it to the left and pull it out. I have some tips that you might want to check out if this does not resolve your problem.

BOSCH DISHWASHER SHU43C06UC/17 NO WATER UPPER ARM

Ours is a SHU3300UC/06 model, basic model which we bought in 1999 so have had 9 years of trouble free service.
Recently we noticed that there was soap left in the soap dispenser after the machine had finished all the cycles. On further inspection we noticed that the upper level glasses, cups and bowels are not consistently clean and it appears that the upper washing arm is not working properly. At the back of the upper washer arm, there is a rectangular piece that slides over the two water outlet tubes projecting out of the back of the washer which supply H20 to the upper arm. On removing the upper arm and the rectangular connector, I noticed there is an inner place that I think is supposed to work like a washer that fits tightly over the 2 water outlet tubes in the protruding from the back of the washer. I noted that the upper opening in the washer/seal is broken so a proper seal is not established. This would cause insufficient water pressure getting to the upper arm and reduce its effectiveness. Now I'm trying to find the replacement part. It appears to be something than can easily be replaced.

Upper wash tube assembly came off back of unit. can not reattach.

We had the same problem with our Bosch 4800 and found that the upper wash arm and tube assembly should attach to the bottom of the upper rack (rather than to the back of the dishwasher). The wash arm and tube assembly slides in and out with the upper rack. When the dishwasher door is closed the tube assembly is forced up against the back mounting/water supply.

Top arm not spinning

only the top rack isnt getting clean?
there is a little plastic circle in the middle of the bottom of the upper spray arm. turn it counter clock wise to pull the upper spray arm from the upper rack. make sure that isnt clogged and the spray holes are not clogged. otherwise....

the piece that the bottem spray arm plugs into and runs along the back wall of the tank to the top is called a feed tube. pull the bottom spray arm out. now you can see the part of the feed tube that feeds the upper spray arm water. does it pop out freely and easily? if so then you need a new feed tube, if not then its most likely your not achieving the right water level or your impeller connected to your circulation pump(motor) is clogged not supplying enough water pressure to travel up the feed tube to spin the upper spray arm.
