Tuner or stereo decoder ic or cap in its decoder circuit, your dvd is sending audio through patch cords bypassing tuner - decoder audio circuit. advise just getting digital tuner from oboma and that will cure your problem.

Might be tuned to the wrong output. The big tv has more than one input and is select able. Is there a blue ray selection for TV or input for that device.

Speaker sounds very staticy

This is normally due to a bad connection, however it can also be caused by a blown speaker. replace with another speaker to see if the static is still there, if you still hear the static then the speaker is fine and the wire is broken somewhere, is the sound of static goes away then problem solved.

When I hook my dvd player up using the Component Video Input I get sound, but no video. Its not the dvd player because i hooked it up to my other tv and it worked fine. Thanks for any assistance

Hello,

This might be the other TV's Video Input Cable Plug. Could be disconnected somewhere within, it may be disconnected. If your TV has two slots for Audio/Video Input, try using the other Slots maybe. :)

No sound on TV

If the TV programs come's up with sound, then is possible that the TV set could be problem free. then cheek the system frequency if it need to be adjust from NTCS, PAL, AUTO MESECAM and so on. Cheek the DVD and VCR if they are in one of the following system settings and adjust the TV set to the settings at which the DVD or VCR is set to. Then you can also cheek if the cable is properly inserted, that is audio to audio and video to video. Nevertheless, if you have properlly connected your cables and set the system frequency to match with each other, and still no sound, then the TV could have sound problem.

Possible courses of sound failure in TV are as follows:-
1 RF stage
2 sound Ics or transistors
3 broken speakers
4 a break down resistor which supplie positive voltage to the sound curcult

Dvd plays fine sound/picture...No sound or picture with cable input

John,
To answer your question no, there are no fuses associated with the tuner input - through the "F" connector jack.
You have there a V26 chassis which has, among other things, standard digital and analog signal inputs. If one works but not the other - and you've verified it's not the cable then the only alternative is the signal board, Mitsubishi p/n# 930b923002...
But don't rush out and buy this puppy, it's a fairly expensive board and there are alternatives to replacing it new or used - PTS Electronics can rebuild this board for half the cost of a new one and most techs use PTS for that reason.
My best advice is to have a qualified shop estimate the repair and if they decide that the signal board needs to be replaced and quotes you a price ask them then about having it rebuilt.
Also take the unit to them to save the pickup/delivery charges and ask for your estimate in writing...
Hope this helps!
Bill
