Clear mold insides lens of Canon G2/G5

Who found the mold? The lens cannot be disassembled by you. It must be done at a Canon service center and it will be expensive.

Canon parts and repair service is excellent. All the parts of canon powershot is readily available in the market for reasonable price.

For your reference i am giving you the site where they take up these kind of problems.
the website is " ".

Replacing a broken or cracked LCD display screen:
  • Powershot A Series: $90 for most all models (a few dollars less on some)
  • Powershot S Series (S30 - S80, S100-S500, S1-IS, S2-IS): $90 for most models (a few dollars less on some)
  • Powershot SD200, SD300, SD400, SD630: $100 (the LCD for these models is more expensive)

LCD monitor is blank

Canon would have to fix this for you. The fault may be the screen itself, or the LCD viewfinder drive IC on the camera's circuit board. In this case they will replace the circuit board.

I just repaired my Canon G2 with the same symptom.  The internal PCB that you plug the external AC adapter is defective.  The numbers on the board are:

LCD screen turns off when back in body

We had a similar problem. If you remove the cover to the place where the LCD hinges, you will find two little wires broken off. These attach to a black touch sensor resting in the lcd screen. It comes out easily and without issue. WIth the two wires torn, the camera does not recognize that the LCD display has been turned around. It turns the screen off because it believes you have the LCD screen pointed inward towards the body of the camera. A small extension for the wires and a soldering iron solved that set of problems.

White LCD on my canon

Hi: I think you have broken (accidentaly with the fall) the cable with several wires that connect the LC display. My real advice is that you take your camera to a store were they can give you direct support desmanteling the camera and replacing the cable or fixing it. However, Zair already had a problem like yours and the best solutions was given by BowerR64. You can consult on the following page:,p294056/Canon-PowerShot-G2-Digital-Camera.aspx (just copy and paste on the address bar) ;) Regards

Canon powershot G2

Hi: It turns out that one of the wires connecting the LCD screen with the camera body probably is broken. It is a simple to remove the LCD cover and reconnect the wire, but it requires manipulating very small objects. The clip that you must re-insert the wire into is scarcely 1mm x 4mm. I recommend a bright light, magnifying glass, tweezers, and a very small phillips screwdriver. It might also be possible to aquire a replacement cable from Canon. E-mail them... Regards
