1 Answer

I nww=eed to know the fuel mixture for my homelite gas blower

I used plain gasoline to run the homelite gas blower. As it was running it suddenly stopped. I think I should have used a gas and oil mixture. What do you recommend I do.I don't have a user manual.

4 cycles don't have any oil in the gas... if it's a 2 cycle that's when you need to blend oil in the gas tank.. Sure it's a 4?

If you ran plain gas in a 2-cycle engine and it seized... you need to buy a new one. 2-cycle engines depend on oil in the gas for lubrication. If you run straight gas, there is no lubrication, the engines overheats and seizes. The end, unfortunately.

Previous homeowner left a homelite b250 0 801 backpack BLOWER. What type of fuel does it use note no owners manual on homelite site

It uses Hi test gasoline. NOT regular. You'll be having hard start problems if you use regular grade fuel. The engine is a 2 stroke which means you MUST mix oil into the gasoline before you put it in the blower gas tank. The proper 2 cycle oil can be had at any home improvement store or garden departments in places like Walmart. Do not use automotive oil or you will have a huge amount of smoke when you run the blower. You can get an owners manual by going on Homelite's website too.

Need gas and oil mixture for 25 cc ut 08083 blower

Two-cycle engines use a mixture of oil and fuel to power and lubricate the engine. Homelite blower engines use a ratio of 50 parts gasoline to 1 part two-cycle engine oil. Two-cycle engine oil is commonly sold in 2.6-ounce containers; add it to 1 gallon of gas to achieve the 50:1 ratio. Two-cycle engine oil for outboard motors is not compatible with Homelite blowers.Use premium fuel, the blower, weedeater, etc. will last much longer!

I would like to know the exact ratio of oil and gas of my homelite 720 generator,i lost the manual and i have to be more specific in fuelling it.what does it mean by 50 is to 1? thank you

Find the manual here http://www.homelite.com/service_support/product_owners_manuals b> Mixing the fuel The Generator is powered by a two-stroke, air-cooled engineand requires a fuel mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle fuel lubricant. NOTE: Always mix two-cycle engine lubricant likeHomelite's Exact Mix Semi Synthetic Lubricant with gasoline before fueling theunit. Running the Generator ongasoline alone will ruin the engine. NOTE: Recommend you use ONLY Homelite or G-oil® inyour product.( Or any 2 cycle motor oil in this is not available) Use a mixture of 50 parts unleaded regular gasoline and 1part two-stroke engine lubricant (50:1). Use branded 87 octane (R+M+2) unleadedgasoline or gasohol (maximum 10% ethyl alcohol, or 15% MTBE, no methylalcohol.)
NOTE: Always mix lubricant and gas in the properproportions: 2.6 ounces of lubricant to one gallon of unleaded gasoline. To mix the lubricant and fuel together for use: 1. Pour 1/2 gallon of gasoline into a clean gas canor other container approved for fuel storage. Do not mix the fuel and lubricantdirectly in the Generato's fuel tank. 2. Add 2.6 ounces of two-cycle engine lubricant tothe gasoline mixture. 3. Add the remaining 1/2 gallon of gasoline. 4. Close the container holding the gas/lubricantmix and swirl the can to blend contents together. NOTE: Do not mix more than you will use in a month, and shake the container to blend thoroughly before each use. Using an old fuelmixture can cause starting difficulty or damage. DO NOT USE E85 FUEL. IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. NOTE: Fuel system damage or performance problems resultingfrom the use of an oxygenated fuel containing more than the percentages ofoxygenates stated previously are not covered under warranty. Ethanol. Gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol by volume(commonly referred to as E10) or 15% ethanol by volume (commonly referred to asE15) are acceptable. E85 is not. Whenadding fuel to the Generator, make sure the unit is sitting on level ground andthat the engine is not hot. Fuelonly with recommended 50:1 mixture of gasoline and lubricant as described in Mixingthe Fuel. Toadd fuel to the Generator: 1. Cleanarea around fuel tank cap, if necessary. 2. Removethe fuel tank cap. 3. Inserta clean funnel into the fuel tank. 4. Slowlypour gasoline/lubricant mixture into fuel tank. NOTE: Filltank no higher than 1/2 in. from top to allow for gasoline expansion. 1. Reinstallfuel cap. 2. Clean up any spills. J

I have recently obtained a Homelite "zip start" trim n edge string trimmer. What fuel mixture is recommended for it?

Modern Homelite equipment uses a 50;1 fuel mixture. That is 2.6 ounces of 2 cycle mix to 1 gallon (U.S.) of gasoline. I highly recommend to use a quality 2 cycle oil that is designed for lawn equipment. I also recommend to use a mix that contains fuel stabilizer. This will usually be in a 3.2 ounce bottle.
Always use fresh fuel, it prevents problems in your equipment.

Good luck!

I need to no what oil/fuel mixture the homelite backpack blowers use

It should have the mixture on a lable near the fuel filler cap; something like 40:1, or 50:1.Home Depot sells small bottles of 2-cycle oil for homelite engines. Mix one to a 1-gal of gasoline.

Need to know gas mixture

Yours is not a current model and I did not find a manual. The following is an excerpt from a 26cc MightyLite Blower/Vac UT08550/UT08951 "Operator's Manual":
This product is powered by a 2-cycle engine and requires pre-mixing gasoline and 2-cycle lubricant. Pre-mix unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine lubricant in a clean 1 gallon container approved for gasoline.
Recommended fuel: This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline intended for automotive use.
Mix Homelite Premium Exact Mix lubricant with gasoline according to the instructions on the package. If Premium Exact Mix lubricant is not available, use a high quality synthetic 2-cycle engine lubricant, mixed at 2.6 oz. per gallon (US).
Do not use automotive lubricant or 2-cycle outboard lubricant.
NOTE: Premium Exact Mix fuel mix will stay fresh up to 30 days. DO NOT mix quantities larger than usable in a 30 day period.
PREMIUM EXACT MIX (50:1)
GasolineLubricant
1 gallon (US) 2.6 oz.
1 Liter 20 cc (20 ml)

If properly adjusted your blower will operate fine on 50:1 regardles of what the manual reads. HTH

GAS MIXTURE

Hello

>>All Two Stroke Engines will use a 50 to 1 Ratio using Today's Two Stroke Oils. I once had an Old Chainsaw probably from the 1960s, maybe Earlier 70s that had a sticker on it that said to use a 25 to 1 Fuel/Oil Ratio, but that would have been using Two Stroke Oils of the Time Period the Chainsaw was Manufactured. I was having a Problem with Oil Coming Out of the Muffler and Started Decreasing the Oil in the Gas. I Reduced the Oil Until it was a t a 45:1 Ratio and Decided to be Safe, I would Use a 40:1 Ratio Mix. In that Chainsaw I used 50 to 1 Ratio with no problems. Today's Two Stroke Oils compared to Yesteryears are more Efficient at Lubricating. It is like comparing Today's Synthetic Motor Oil to Motor Oils of Decades ago. All the Equipment I use in Landscaping, anything from a Weed Eater, Leaf Blower, Chainsaw, Hedge Trimmer, use 40 to 1 ratio, and I use all types of makes and models, Stihl, Homelite, Husqvarna, Shindaiwa, and Echo, Sears. I mix up a 5 Gallon Fuel can and use it in all of the Equipment for my Customers and for my Landscaping. I like my Fuel/Oil Ratio a Little Heavy, so I use a 40:1 Ratio. The Following was Copied and Pasted here from and MTD E-mail to me when I Asked for the OEMs Suggested Mixture for this Unit. The mixture, as described by the engine manufacturer, is a 50:1 ratio when using the approved types of 2-cycle engine oils.
50:1 ratio is a mix consisting of 2.5 ounces of 2-cycle oil per 1 gallon of gasoline.
The 2-cycle oil used should be approved and have one or more of the following specification titles: NMMA TC-WII, TC-W3, JASO FB, or JASO FC. NOTE: If unsure of the 2-cycle oil specifications, or the oil is not approved, use a 32:1 fuel to oil ratio for All 2 Cycle Equipment Except for Hole Drills/Augers (These Use a 25:1 Ratio Mix).
NOTE: Always mix 2-cycle fuel oil and fuel in an approved gasoline safe container prior to filling the engine. Make sure to use a separate gas can for this 2-cycle fuel mixture and label it accordingly. Keep in mind that the fuel capacity of these engines normally is less than a gallon, therefore you will have to use this extra oil mixture for multiple fuel fills. Adding a fuel stabilizer will also help to increase the shelf life of fuel.
>>I have Heard the Recommendations About the Stabilizer making Gasoline Good for 18 to 24 Months. I have Never Gotten Good Performance from Gasoline that has been Stored with Stabil in it if the Gasoline is Over 10 to 11 Months Old. After that Amount of Time the Breakdown Process has Started (But is Slowed Somewhat by the Stabil Additive I Assume) and from then on the Performance of the Equipment I am Using Gets Worse. I Suggest Using All the Gasoline Up Within 9 to 10 Months Tops. You will Never be Sorry you Did.
I have Not Seen a Recall Notice for this Unit, However, you can Check with your Local Dealer if you Suspect a Recall has been Issued for this Unit.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

My homelite yardbroom 2 won't start. Maybe wrong gas/oil mix

Hi
If you remove the fuel you believe to be the mixture out of the fuel tank and refuel with the correct mixture then remove the air filter. Put a few drops of the correct mixture in to the intake it should start. it may take a few times of repetting putting the fuel in to the intake, but eventually it will clean out the bad fuel and run good.Remember to replace the air filter!
