Look under the seat. What does that pressure switch look like that detects you sitting?

Did you try jumping the switch under the seat? Why would the foot switch shut it down? If it is the switch near the foot and you can't replace, then jump it. But be careful this will disable saftey features. Hope this helps.

Why does my rover rancher stall when i go to engage the cutting deck

1>the pressure switch under the seat may be malfunctioning? (it will cause the engine to die immediately when trying to engage the cutting blades because it thinks your not sitting in the seat.
2>dirty or clogged air cleaner element will cause engine to die when engaging cutting blades. This can be tested very easily by removing the air cleaner element and then trying to engage the blades again. If this works then replace air cleaner element immediately before running the engine anymore.
I have personally experienced both of these problems myself more that once.

On john deere la150, if i sit on seat and engage blades,,,nothing, but when i lift of seat, blades engage and motor shuts off. Replaced seat switch and did not fix problem

"On john deere la150, if i sit on seat and engage blades,,,nothing, but when i lift of seat, blades engage and motor shuts off. Replaced seat switch and did not fix problem" Okay, what I'm hearing is that "nothing" means the blades-driving PTO won't engage (declutch) when you switch on mower; but then, (say) as you start to dismount the mower (seat) the mower (drive clutch) engages even as the deadman switch (seat switch) kills the engine (and the drive/pto shaft starts to slow down. The key here seems to be that at full engine torque the clutch is unable to remain engaged but, rather, slips so that mower blade inertia (resistence) cannot be overcome...but as engine/pto rotation slows the clutch is able not to slip. First place to consider is the clutch gap which is probably to0 large (possibly from wear and tear, possibly not). So check specs and how-to from manual or factory and reset the pto drive clutch gap...not hard to do. If clutch gap is not the problem then most likely rehab or replacement of the clutch assy will be needed...is the mower has many years use sufficient to wear out the clutch. Another possiblity is an electic (wring/switching/grounding) problem involving mower and deadman switches.

Why is it when electric clutch is engaged, engine cuts out?

Most likely the seat switch is either bad and unplugged.

Zt7000 Craftsman mower clutch seems to have issues. Wires were broken from the PTO switch to the clutch by the clutch assembly. With no electrical charge going to the clutch, the flywheel and wires are...

The tab sticking down fits into one of the groves on the cluthc to keep the clutch from spinning while the engine is running, as well as when you engage it. The wires are broken due to the clutch bolt backing out, or the belt or part of the belt could have broken or lost some of the chords that have spun and wrapped around the wires and just broke them off. You need to verify that the bolt is tight first. The tab should not be bent, if it is you need to straigten it before you reinstall the clutch. Next reattatch the wires. Dont put the belt on yet. After you have reconnected the wires, test for 12 volts. You can do ths two different ways, the first is sit on the seat with the engine OFF. Turn the key to the RUN position, then engage the PTO (turn the blades on), you should hear a CLUNK. Do this two or three times. Or you can sit on the seat ( or have someone sit there) and use you volt meter set to DC volts and check your connector for 12 volts and ground. Then put the belt back on and try it out.

I sit on the poulen pro and turn on the blades it runs fine but my wife sits in it and turns on the blades the mower cuts off.

She's probably too small or light to engage the seat safety switch. She may be able to sit back further in the seat or you may be able to adjust the switch.

if you mean that when you let off the clutch pedal and/or engage the blades, the engine dies, lift the seat and make sure the connector is firmly plugged into the switch attached to the seat.
