Question about Tomtom ONE 130 GPS Receiver

Upon booting TomTom One 130-s, flashing red and white X

I connected my TomTom to my computer after installing TomTom HOME. I was connected to the internet, and wanted to "update" my software, etc. Everything seemed to go well. However, when I disconnected my TomTom and rebooted, all I see is a blinking X to the right of an image of the TomTom, and an image of a disc in the lower left of the screen.
When I am connected to my computer, all I see is the image of the TomTom on the screen, and I can not access any features.
I tried a complete "unistall/reinstall," but that has not had any effect. What do I do? Thanks.

This is not a solution, it is a new problem
my tomtom was working fine until I connected it to my computer using the latest TomTom Home. It now flashes a white cross and TomTom Home says "No device connected". My TomTom is useless now and does not work anymore.

When turns on shows a computer screen and red cross


Hi,

Go to TomTom Home reconnect and then go to device on the tool bar. Select disconnect device and this should free up your device and take the red X off.

Flashing X on TomTom but cant get it off on spotlight on my mac!


Make a full backup onto your computer making sure all files are shown. Do not use tt home. Make sure you have a copy of your map in your backup. Do not format. Delete everything on your tt. Connect to tt home and tt home will reinstall the navcore for your device. Copy and paste your map from your backup onto your tt. You should be set to go. A reminder you will lose all your preferances and favorites when you do this.

Trying to install HOME automatically and wait flashing on screen


If you insert the CD that came with your device, it'll automatically connect you to TomTom Home. Once you connect your device via USB your computer will recognize it after the the software has been installed and automatically connect you. You don't necessarily need to restart your computer after installation, but I recommend it

This solution can be used in the following situations:

• The device hangs in the start screen (splash screen )
• An SD-card with a red cross is displayed on the screen
• A picture with a red dot and white cross is displayed
• The device can’t be turned off

If you haven't already done so, please download and Install TomTom Home from http://www.tomtom.com/7602

If you don’t have a full backup of your TomTom yet we advise you to make one before continuing with the steps in this email. You can make a backup by following the steps below:

1. Reset your TomTom device: http://www.tomtom.com/6965 and connect it to your computer.
2. Click on 'Backup and Restore -> Backup' in TomTom Home 2.0
3. Enter a name for the backup and click [OK]
• IMPORTANT: When the software is asking to delete parts from the backup click [NO]

After the backup is made you delete the files from the root directory of the TomTom. Follow the steps below to do this:

1. Reset your TomTom device: http://www.tomtom.com/6965 and connect it to your computer.
2. Open My Computer in Windows, or Finder in Macintosh from your desktop and turn on your TomTom device.
3. On your screen a new removable disk appears, this is your TomTom device, click on the disk to open it.
4. You will see a list of folders and a list of loose files
5. Delete all of the loose files. IMPORTANT: The folders with their content must NOT be deleted.
5. Close the window when all files are deleted by clicking on the [x].

Next we will reinstall the application via TomTom HOME.

1. Start TomTom HOME on your computer
• TomTom Home should automatically check for updates and prompt you to install them, if not:-
2. Click on 'Update my device'. If you get the message 'No Items Available', or there is not an application to download, click on 'Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc -> Items on my computer', select the application and click on 'Add'.
3. Select the Application update.
4. Click on 'Device -> Disconnect Device', then turn off your device when it is done installing and disconnect it from your computer.
5. On a PC, in the System Tray by the computer clock, click on the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon and disconnect the TomTom also in this way.

When switching on the device it should boot as normal again.

TomTom Home must have corrupted the TomTom's operating system. That is what that symbol means. Contact TomTom support and tell them what model you have and they will walk you through getting the correct version installed.

To solve this, use TomTom HOME to install the application. Follow the steps below:
  1. Install TomTom HOME on your computer, if it isn't already installed. You can download the latest version of TomTom HOME here: www.tomtom.com/home

  2. Connect your device to your computer and switch it on.

  3. TomTom HOME opens automatically and checks for updates. If it does not automatically check, do one of the following:
    • In HOME 1.x select Device > Update now from the menu bar.
    • In HOME 2.x, click Update in the HOME menu.

  4. When you are shown a list of available updates that you can download, make sure that you select the check box for the TomTom application.
TomTom HOME downloads and installs the latest version of the TomTom application for your device.

My tom tom one 130 stays with an orange picture, and a red circle with an X. It also says something about an error when I try to upgrade it... like this....
