Dark area on screen

I have a transparent dark area on the bottom right of my screen about the size of my hand.It is a Dynex my kids gave me this past Christmas.I have a converter box and dvd player sitting beside it on that side(if that makes any difference). Also several speakers around it.The area is really noticable on dark scenes.

Moving things didn't help. The spot is in the same place where most of the station logos appear.Could that have anything to do with it?

Try moving different devices away from the tv, there may be some type of interference.

Hopefully it's not your TV going bad...

Sometimes tv logos cause the problems with dark spots.

I've also read that some tv's have components inside them that get really hot and sometimes affect picture.

I was at BestBuy and they were saying something about "resetting" a LCD but a service tech would have to perform it. I'm not sure how much that would cost.

My suggestion is to go into your tv settings and see if you can set them back to DEFAULT and see if this fixes the problem. possibly adjust the Backlight option.

The technology is so new on these things sometimes it's hard to pin point the problems.

I appologize I couldn't be of more assistance.

How To Find Motherboard Drivers

How To Find Motherboard Drivers:

Here is a real world example on Fixya.com of some one having a problem getting drivers:

Question:
I need drivers for my FC GIGABYTE 8vm533m-rz motherboad

That is a some what a perfect question, the brand has been given and the motherboard modal number has also been given, so finding the drivers will be a peace of cake !

First of all, always go to the makers brand website, in this case we would go to Gigabyte's official website located here

Next, go to support & downloads;
Then copy and paste the motherboard modal number ( in this case is 8vm533m-rz )
From there we can get the drivers, located : HERE
locate the bios update: HERE
and that crucial mobo manual we all seem to lose: HERE

And that's the very basics, the same method would be used for every motherboard. Mostly all manufactures are happy to provide the drivers and support software on there websites.

Hope this helps some one out there.

Trying to change tv format on my dynex 32 LCD

You are looking for a picture size, format or screen size button on the remote control to solve the issue. If it connected to a HD cable or satellite box then they also have format or picture size settings.

A dark but transparent horizontal line has appeared about 20% down from the top. Any suggestions? Originally there was a dark horizontal line almost in the center of the screen. I would go away after of...

Mine had the horizontal lines you are talking about. 1st check a test picture. Click on Menu, then Settings, then go to Product Support. From there click System Diagnosis and go to bottom and click on sample picture. If you see the same problem there, then you may want to research the possibility of installing a t-con board. You may want to try calling Sony 1st and have them walk you through the basic service repair items. I was very lucky and installed a new t-con board I purchased with all the other boards on Ebay. Good luck with solving your problem! Ron

Text shaping

You can do that eaaily by importing the logo into Adobe Illustrator. Text shapes are a snap.

But if you ONLY have Photoshop, you can still succeed, by doing it manually, which takes a lot longer:

First, determine your text size in points. Just hit the T tool, try a few sizes (undo paste after each test). Once you have a size that fits/looks OK, then make a new TRANSPARENT document and test tool your entire ABCs onto that document (all the letters you will need)

Now select each letter, one by one, copy it, and paste into a location on your logo. Do the letter at the top (pure vertical axis) first using the move tool. Then copy/paste next letter to right, select ROTATE/ARBITRARY, and trial/error a guess at 2 degrees or so, clockwise. Next letter should start at 4 degrees r/clockwise or so. Keep notes on what the last degrees were, because the next letters will always be a factor above that number of degrees.

You get the idea now? As I said, can be done, I do it all the time just to keep the transparency. But will take you half an hour at least, whereas in Illustrator, it can be done in a snap of the fingers.

It's definitely your VCR that is causing the problem. Move your VCR, if you don't get any results you need to send it to repair.
