Question about Sunbeam SG6622RP Grill

1 Answer

Screws fastening "tent" are corroded

The "I-tent" on my Sunbeam SG6622RP Grill should come off for maintenance by unscrewing two screws, giving me access to the burner. But the screws are corroded and too soft to remove with a screwdriver. What do you suggest?

Neutronv6 -- Thanks, I'll try the damaged screw remover idea. I do have a manual. I considered WD-40 but held off because of the highly flammable environment that I'd be spraying in.

Just had the same problem... I sprayed some WD-40 on both sides to loosen it, then used a damaged screw remover to pull it out. On one side, the head snapped off and I had to use the smallest-size extractor to directly pull out the shank, but it worked.

BTW, you don't happen to have the instruction manual, do you??

How do yo dissasemble sunbeam party grill

Unfortunately, you can't disassemble this grill. It has no screws, tabs or obvious notches to separate the grids from the unit for cleaning or to view the heating element below them. You may further damage it by doing so. Unless it's already broken or not working, I wouldn't try it.

How to change a headlight

I just did the same on my 94. You have to remove the clips that hold in the grille, after un-fastening them, pull up on the grill to get it off of the truck. Also as a tip, put the fastening clips back into the grill, first, instead of in the frame. That way, all you have to do is pop the grill (with fastening clips in place) back onto the body. This gives you access to the headlight. There are four small screws on the trim around the headlight that hold the light in place. Be careful with the screws, they are very easy to drop and lose. Then, you can simply unplug the light, pull it out and replace it.

The mixer turns on, motor is running, but the beaters are not turning

Most likely what has happened is that the gears have stripped. The gears inside are plastic but the spindle is metal. When a dough is too heavy and gets caught up in the beaters it tends to eat them. If you take it apart, you will probably find that the gears are shot.
The fix...order new gears, tear down the mixer and replace them. These gears really should have been metal! Check the sunbeam web site for authorized repair places to get your parts.

1. Remove the ejector should pop out with a flat head screw driver. There is a small phillips head screw under it. Take it out.

2. Take out the screws on the bottom. This should allow the face plate on the mixer to slide off, allowing your motor assembly to then be pulled forward.

3. Remove the mounting brackets/shock absorbers...they are rubber u shaped items that hold the motor in. Once that is done, remove the black plastic bracket on the bottom; two phillip head screws. Then unscrew the two long screws underneath. they hold on the speed control electric board as well as the top to the gear box. Pop the silver fasteners on the side of the gear box and you are in. the gears should lift out. put the new ones in and do the whole thing in reverse.

hope this helps.

Venturi tubes

The venturi tubes should go over the gas orifice. If the tubes were to drop off, you could have a fire outside of your grill and possibly an explosion.
