Question about Bosch Refrigerators
Hi we have a Bosch KSU405226x Fridge. The freezer compartment seems to be working but the fridge is no longer getting cold. I assume the thermostat is not working but do not know how to access it for replacement. The firidge was leaking water at the bottom before the time. We stay in a small town with very little support. Can you please advise and or show me a diagram of where the parts are and how to access them.
Your evaporator is iced over, this could be due to a couple different components
1. defrost timer is bad,
2. thermostat is stuck and continually cooling
3. fan that blows over evaporator is not working
You will need to check each component to know for sure.
But to save your food from going bad in the refer, remove the food from the freezer, remove 4 screws in the back of the freezer (from inside the freezer) and you will see a frozen aluminum block which is your evaporator. Defrost it thoroughly by turning off the freezer and blowing the evaporator with a hair dryer.
This will allow you refer to start working again for a few days, until you can figure out what the problem is and get it repaired.
