Question about Toshiba 32AF44 32" TV
THE TV WAS ON AND THEN SUDDENLY SHUT ITSELF OFF. THE ON-OFF SWITCH WAS VERY HOT...ALMOST TO HOT TO TOUCH AND WE SMELLED SMOKE LIKE BURNING WIRE INSULATION....IS THIS JUST A BAD SWITCH OR CAN THERE BE SOMETHING MORE...?

SOURCE: why is there smoke?
If any of the resistors in circuit have burned out, a smoke with a fouling smell will come out. There must be some shorted component/s at the main power regulator board to your TV.
