"Put in cartridge" error message

Printer was working fine.  Hour later, no display, no power.  Messed with cords, got display back, but first error message was "wrong cartridge".  Took cartridges out and put back in.  Turned machine off, then on.  Now error message, no matter what we do, is "put in cartridge"  HELP!

Hope this might help someone else. I had the original problem. The problem ended up being that the ink head had had some malfunction where something on the bottom MELTED and caused it to malfunction and be difficult to remove (they told me it should just lift out--it didn't.) When I finally got the head out and told the Canon tech I had on the phone that something looked melted, he got a supervisor on the phone who talked about replacing it. I thought she meant the ink head, but it ended up she meant the entire printer! SInce it was NOT still under warranty, and since I didnt have to complain very much, I suspect that Canon has had this problem before and just wanted to keep me happy and quiet about it.......just my suspicion. They sent me a return label to send them the whole printer, and had a new one to me in 2 days! Surprised the heck outta me.

The printer will not print, and it keeps saying that the printer door is open, but it's not. I just replaced the cartridges, but I made sure the door was closed. How can I get this working?

Hi,

You may try the following to resolve the issue,

  • Open, and then close the cartridge door of the product. Make sure that the door rests securely against the body of the product.
  • Check if the error message still displays. If it does continue with next step.
  • Inspect the cartridge door and the area around it to make sure that no obstructions prevent the door from closing completely.
  • Check if the error message still displays. If it does continue with next step.
  • Press the Power button to turn ON the printer.
  • Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
  • Reconnect the USB cable to the printer.
  • Check if the error message still displays.
  • If the error is still there you need to send it for repair, as the sensor for the door might have gone bad.

Error OXC19a0031 Ink system failed came up while printing. Printer will not work. Never had any problem before. What do I do?

Complete the steps below in the order presented to resolve the problem. It might not be necessary to complete all of the steps.
NOTE: The printer will not operate unless all six ink cartridges are installed. Also, HP cannot guarantee the quality of refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges. Step one: Reset the printer CAUTION: Do NOT perform any other type of reset on the printer before the ink initialization process has been completed.
  1. Without turning the power off, remove the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall socket.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to the printer and to the wall socket. Turn the unit on if it is not already turned on.
  3. Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
Step two: Clean the cartridge contacts
  1. Lift the top cover. Figure 1: Lifting the top cover c00813643.gif
  2. Locate the ink cartridge indicated in the error message. Squeeze the gray tab below the cartridge slot to release the latch and then lift the latch. Figure 2: Unlatching the cartridge c00372272.gif 1 - Black cartridge 2 - Color cartridges
  3. Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message. Figure 3: Removing the cartridge c00372273.gif
  4. Gather the following cleaning materials:
    • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water. Do not use tap water, alcohol, or platen cleaners.
    • Lint-free cloth or swab. Eyeglass wipes and coffee filters work well.
  5. Lightly moisten the swab or cloth and squeeze out the excess moisture.
  6. Holding the cartridge by its handle, wipe the copper contacts. Figure 4: Wiping the contacts c00372274.gif 1 - Copper contacts
  7. Replace the cartridge and then close the latch and the printer top cover.
  8. Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
NOTE: The printer may take up to 15 seconds to clear the error and recognize the cartridge after closing the cover.
Step three: Replace the cartridge If the error message still displays, replace the indicated cartridge with a new cartridge.

I have a HP Office Jet 6210 All-in-one and the error message keeps showing me. ''Error 0xb90000002 165:hw_interrupt'' I have turned off the printer, unplugged it and the computer. I have held Ok and Cancel...

It's a firmware error.

Solution one: Restart the product

Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on.

Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges.

Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display.

Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and wait for one minute.

Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.

Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges.

Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.

Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print a print job from the computer.

The next step would be a partial reset, which your printer unfortunately doesn't have.

Instead, you can try clearing the derivative and resetting the NVRAM.
To do that:
Press and hold OK and Cancel while plugging in the power cord.

After that:
If the error code does not display after the reset, print a test page to ensure that the issue is resolved.

If the error code does display, the product needs to be replaced.
