Answer for question 3: No sensor tells the water pump to pump, the water pump is running as long as the motor is running. The serpentine belt turns the water pump and the crankshaft pulley powers this belt.
The thermostat is a variable valve that controls the flow of the water to a set temperature. The temperature switch is a sensor that will switch the fan/fans on if the temperature rises above a set temperature.
Answer for question 2: The bubbles that you see coming from the radiator could be cavitation bubbles. A more worrying aspect is that they could also be a sign of a bad head gasket.
Answer to question 1: It is possible that the water could not circulate if the water pump failed. It could also be very restricted if the thermostat failed open but there are bypasses that still allow some flow.
Anytime you have to move anything with a compressor and freon, like turning it on its side, you need to let it sit in the proper position for a minimum of 8 hours (I recommend 24) to allow all the air bubbles to work to the top or you could blow the compressor.
Could be low coolant, could be a bad head gasket or other point where combustion gasses are entering coolant.
The heater core fills with bubbles, it's commonly the highest point in the cooling system. When the motor is turning slow the water pump isn't moving enough water to force the bubbles to go on through the heater core but when you speed the motor up the pump is able to force the bubbles down to the motor. They'll go to the top radiator tank and then out the pressure cap to the recovery tank. Look for bubbling in the coolant recovery tank.
This is pretty common with a leaking head gasket. The heater core collects the bubbles as the coolant passes through it until finally it's full. When you take off the motor turns faster and the water pump makes enough pressure to flush the bubbles on through the heater core to the radiator tank where they end up going into the coolant recovery tank. Watch the coolant tank as you pull the throttle open sharply, see if you see bubbles in it.
Soapy water never worked for me... Pour kids bubbles into a bowl and use a paint brush to spread the bubbles on the top ring. If there is a hole you'll see it begin to blow a bubble where the hole is. patch with vinyl repair kit.
My tigershark would start working then stop 20 seconds to 20 minutes later. I found that the power switch was loosing good connection after self check cycle, I turned it on and off rapidly to hopefully clean the contact! I now disconnect and restart by pulling the power cord. I have run two cycles with no problem> I will replace the switch when I get a chance.
